Dorking 2-0 Sheerwater - Match abandoned 43 minutes frown

Awful conditions at Meadowbank caused the abandonment of this game just before half time with the Chicks 2-0 up. The game started in wind and driving rain and Chicks got to grips with the conditions better than their opponents. Roy Newman put the Chicks in the lead on 11 minutes, with a thumping header from a corner and Page added a second on 17 minutes. The rain was not letting up and if anything was getting heavier. The ball was starting to stick and this was emphasised when Page sent the ball goal bound from about 5 yards out, but the Sheerwater defender had all the time in the world to clear it off the line as it stuck in the mud! Conditions were becoming farcical and with the rain forecast to last the rest of the day, the referee blew his whistle just before half time. Correct decision in my view, as there was no way we'd have made it to 90 minutes.

my god i have just witnessed the worst ever display by a staines lammas side , 3-0 up then 3-1 then 4-1 up and cruising , oh no we self destruct 4-4 after 90 mins extra time being played we go onto lose 8-4 yes 8 , fair play to warlingham who never gave up and wanted the game more , our boys think they are better than they actually are and need to have a good look at themselves and see if they really want to wear the blue shirt of lammas , no pride and no [****!!****] from our team , even one player not turning up at all , no phone call text nothing , a cameo appearance from mr nut250 for the last 25 mins in centre mid,

anyway good luck to wars who throughly deserved there win and place in the next round ...... lammas shocking , im embarrased by the display totally unexceptable

Disappointing performance from Bookham going down 2-1 at Bedfont, well done to Mick T and his team who adapted better to the constant wind and rain and worked hard for the points. Bookham did not show the same commitment and desire which was needed in very difficult conditions.

Bedfont 2-1 Bookham

2-0 up and cruising but a sloppy bit of play gifted bookham a goal. bookham were never really a threat and if we could just rise to the occasion rather then lower our game we probably would have won by a country mile but hey THATS FOOTBALL!!!

WOT A RESULT AT CAMBERELY THOU!! RESULT OF THE DAY IN MY OPINION

Colliers Wood 2-1 Chessington & Hook United

Pretty much heavy rain all day which turned into monsoon conditions late on!

Forget about the result, BOTH teams deeserve enormous credit for providing great entertainment in, at times, farcical conditions.

CHU led at half time thanks to a Marc Hudson own goal. CHU started like a champion side but gradually Woods came back and it was even stevens first 45.

Woods dominated early 2nd half and a crazy judgement call from the, otherwise excellent Houghton gifted Cormack a close range strike. Bedj Bedj made it 2-1 before Peters was, maybe harshly, sent off for the visitors.

Nobody could have complained if the game was called off after 80 minutes or so.

I suggest that some club needs to get hold of this league asap. In any event, there are, still.8 clubs who "may" be champions in May!!! drinkies

Ash United....oops!! I mean Cove fc played very well today under very tough conditions to beat Molesey. Scored an amazing goal after 10 mins or so. Take a look at Bentleys goal against Arsenal....double it....multiply it by 10....add a thousand and then multiply by 2 and you have johnno's opening volley from about......30 yds. Top corner - keeper.............. forget it!!! Chin Up!!!

we scored another soon after and was then cruising.

You may think that posting a message at 00.25hrs in the morning would signafy that i have been out on the lash. You would be right!!

Karaoke tonight and i sang roughly 10 songs. From Lionel richie to The Temptations. Loved it.

Sandhurst tuesday!!!!!

All the best

Johnno (aka lionel, elvis, Take That, George Michael, Elton John and a few more....)

Bedfont 2 Bookham 1

we controlled the game in the 1st half and maybe should of been 2 or 3 up, we settled in the end for 1 up at half time,

2nd half conditions were dire, 1st 15 we played ok and scored to make it 2, last 30 minutes was a real slog Bookham were pushing us back but we always looked dangerous on the break, with a couple minutes remaining Bookham scored with maybe there only real chance.

2-1 final score on the whole we deserved the win, but we gotta leane to punish teams when were on top, still 3 points wins on the bounce and onto tuesday night against guildford.

HARTLEY how did you fair against them yesterday?

I arrived at the ground a good hour before K/O and the referee had already passed the pitch fit, though I had my doubts it wouldn't last 90 minutes.

Just after three, the heavens really opened, and the touch-lines were streams within minutes.

Why didn't you come and say 'hallo' TRS. I didn't even see you there.

It was nice to see 'Mr Burns' officiating on the far touch line again, though he and his fellow officials were certainly looking rather be-draggled by half time !

I heard from a ex-DFC & Banstead player, now at Leatherhead that their game had to be also abandoned at half time, but through flood-light failure !!!

(Pass the collection-box, someone !)

TRS:-

I'm surprised you didn't mention the slight change to the Dorking home-kit.

Mind you - After ten minutes play, it WAS basically mud coloured !

Hanworth 5 - 4 Westfield

We started with 10 including me who has never played on pitch in my life for the first half hour as 4 players were caught in traffic. we did ok and it wasnt until i went off that we went 1 down. equalised just on half time through a free kick.

Second half and the downpour ensured a thrilling half - it really could have been 10-10 as both sides attacked well, unfortuantley a late goal undid us. After hearing all the horror stories from the other night i found Hanworth players , management and fans a good bunch of guys, saying that there was a few handbags at the end but that was our fault as much as anything. Not too keen on all the condonsation in the changing room though !
