There didn't seem to me to be any animosity when Paul came over to say hello to Colin Page and Terry Yorath which would seem to support the reporting of what Barry Ashby had to say about their departure.

Paul Smith took a load of stick during the game but was smiling at us everytime something was said. Spoke to him in bar afterwards and he said he loved the banter and certainly had no ill feelings towards the club. A great professional way to be IMO.

Quite apart from the goal, I think if Smith had played for us on Saturday, rather than against us, we would have got something from the game. I don't think we would have had that 15-20 minute spell in the second half when Billericay were dominating the midfield.

Can't argue with that again, as it was he had to play the full 90 mins as all subs used quite early as their goalie was injured.

He was certainly taking it serious enough when he saw Dan Young coming up for a corner in the second half.
