Campaign for a YORATH/SOUTHALL ticket

As it stands at the moment we have a management team that on paper is the best in Non league, perhaps the best non league as known. Are we going to keep it or are we going to allow it to melt away. I believe Managerially we have the team to take us upto the heights we reached under CK and beyond. Once the court case is over, the clubs finances are set on an even keel and with the New stadium on line, and under their guidance the GAAAAAAAAATE will have a great future.

I say lets not only work together to help the club financially, lets work together to keep Terry and Neville here as manager and assistant.

Terry Yorath, Neville Southall, Mark Weatherly and the other guys are doing a great job for this club and us in financially very difficult circumstances, for this we should let are feelings be known.

Lets persuade Terry/Neville to take the job full Time.

Well, loads reading but only 3 putting their names to the campaign. Looks like i misjudged the support for the Yorath/Southall ticket.

Sad, i hope we don't live to regret it.

I support TY totally , after what he said in the interview about yesterdays game about missing training and not being involved i think as soon as he gets himself working on being a manager again he will do us proud . Not sure about big Nev though .Up the Gate .

Should that read "Michaelmichael, michaelmichael"? So good they named him double twice (One time is to once, as four times is to what?)...

Purely on the economics bearing in mind the current situation, it should remain so. And i don't see why TY shouldn't be equipped to manage at this level. As for NS, he hasn't covered himself in glory in the management stakes, but there may be contributing factors, and he may be a very good coach nonetheless (Does he have his badges?). If you give them until the end of the season, I feel that if it wasn't the job for TY/NS, then we will be a far more attractive proposition for prospective managers.

I do have a genuine concern that TY is the right 'choice'.

Short term to stabilise the ship-perfect.

Medium term-i would prefer to see someone else under the current structure .

frankly, its a younger mans game and TY is getting on a bit-is he 'manager fit'.

I know Ferguson is older-but he has been in the job for ages so is tuned into the pace-.Is TY fit emough to do the job long term, week in,week out.

You do change as a person ,when you get into your fifties.

TY will probably do well, but what happens when it goes off-as inevitably it does.

If he then quits-he is lost to the club forever.

what if it goes badly-he is then virtually foreced to leave-and again will be lost to MFC

In his current role, he could well be tied to the club for the next 10 years-but in a managers role-the best MFC will get from him is probably a couple of years, and when it goes downhill-he will have nowhere to go -except leave totally.

Thus-i'd rather have a younger manager under the current structure, with TY as director of football-the title is clumsy -effectively-he is operations director-running things on a day to day basis-which seems perfect to me.

Talk about making things complicated. This is the Ryman Premier we are talking about not THE Premiership. Obviously you need to introduce yourself next time you are at a game and talk to the man.

When i am merely endorsing the existing structure-why does that make it complicated ?

It seems that TY is giving some high profile 'leadership' to the club in all aspects (last seen in the Parmenter days).

If he were to become manager full time-that would invariably be diluted.

The shelf life of a manager is usually short, and if it does not work out for TY as a manager-it would be virtually impossible for TY to go back to the previous role as his credibility would have gone;and so he is lost to MFC.

I do have serious reservations that once the novelty rubs off- someone in their late fifties has the long term mental and physical capacity to do what it takes to be a manager at this level-and that the obvious skill set that TY has remains better deployed in his current role.
