i have long suspected that non league clubs make up their histories, for example lets say i said basildon were

athenian league champions 1978'

essex thameside trophy runners up 1984

and eastern floodlit trophy winners 1989

now that could be stuck in the programme and no ones going to find out are they,well guess what it looks like one local club have been doing exactly that!!!

silencer came on here awhile back and asked about the east anglian cup,interesting competition that one,as late as 1958 it was won by tottenham,well their reserve team,also been won by arsenals second XI, remember these were the days when west ham would enter a team into the essex senior cup.

anyway i digress, last years East anglian cup was won by leiston they beat brentwood in the final on pentalties,the most successful team in recent years has been spalding united,

they made three successive finals from 2004 to 2006,in fact they won the 2005 competition beating lowestoft in the final,which rather begs the question why oh why on concords website are they telling the worldwide web that they were east anglian cup winners 2004/05????

I don't even care even if they won the Smelliest Ground Cup three seasons running in their past!

PMSL, Richard i thought that you were one of the most common sense worthy of forum users but i guess that i have just been proved wrong!

 

Has it not yet crossed your mind that it could be whats known as a mistake?

 

One thing i can assure you of is that we at Concord would never 'make up our history'! Why would we have any need to do such a thing?

 

IMHO not many if any non-league football clubs would gain any type of advantage of making up their history so it would be pointless to do so.

ive got some feedback from the another message board and it looks like the trophy you won was the eastern floodlit competition you beat afc sudbury in the semi finals where you fielded your reserve team as your first team were in the ireland playing shamrock rovers,ring any bells??

Richard, Once again you have confirmed your biggest cocckk of the century title, why try to make such an issue of a simple error that was made whilst building our website ?

 

Maybe your time would be better spent collecting fines !!!!!
