Change of playing formation 3-5-2

Interesting that in his interview,TY talks fondly of playing 3-5-2.

can see the sense that games are won/lost in midfield-and frankly we only seem to have WW in midfield pulling the strings and he needs more suppport.

I'm not sure that players at this level can play 3-5-2 though-the wingbacks get caught out doing neither attacking or defensive duties particularly well.

To be fair-maybe Peters can hack it as a wing back-but i am concerened that wingbacks just don't seem to work at any level below the championship

Will be interesting though to see if TY can make it work for us-and i do hope he can.

AS an aside-first time i've seen him-and thought Kerrigan was very good last night-despite being up against Pele as TY called him.

A proper old fashioned decent defender is kerrigan-keeps it simple and does it well

3-5-2 is a big no no for me. With that formation, your wing-backs have to be your best, fittest players. As you mentioned MM, they have to be very good going forward and at the back, otherwise they are virtually ineffective. Finding two good wing-backs is so difficult, even at the highest level. At this level, it is almost impossible.

The demise of CK's reign proved, for me, that 3-5-2 does not work.

I.M.O..& I've always said it Peters as a target man dosen't work. Peters as a full back, though an improvement & him being competent in that position dosen't get the best out of him.

Running at defenders from midfield is again, i.m.o. his best position. He obviously still has to track back & help out in defence of course but that's where his previous role will be made use of.It's been a long time coming but at last its come. This will improve the teams results I am sure of it.
