Barking...2 Southend Manor....2

Danny Coulson gave Manor a 1-0 half time lead, Manor missed quite a few decent chances including two open goals. Barking went 2-1 up with a dubious offside decision a minute from time. Jonny Wheatstone equalised within 30 seconds of the restart.

Barking set to go through now

Yep an extraordinary score in what was a relatively meaningless fixture.

The squad that we put out was not strong enough to get a result on the evening and when we went two down after 10 minutes of the first half it turned into an uphill struggle.

Best part of the game for me was the Boro's supporter choir in full voice in the second half. I particularly enjoyed the rousing chorus of "We only sing when we're losing" to the tune of 'Quanta na mera' when we were, was it, 5-1 down.

By the way our goal was an own goal too which just about summed up the evening. grin

Does anyone know what the crowd was. The general opinion of some was that it was around 50!

We, myself included of course, are to be congratulated for sticking to the general visiting supporters plan on which was an absolutely foul evening in all respects except for the Takeley on-ground catering. While DF decided that he had seen enough by half time and retired back to The Four Ashes until just after the final whistle.

Fair weather supporter. Did he start getting the shakes/d.ts being away from the bar for a full 45 minutes?

Nobody who was there at the ground last night for any period of time could be accused of being a fair weather supporter! grin
