A Cynical View ?

Game at Witham called off at 6.30 tonight due to waterlogged pitch.

 

Witham -

No Manager / poor run of results / bottom of League / Moral reported to be "low"

 

Town -

Recent good run of results / improving game by game / confidence high.

 

Question - just how much effort was put on by the Witham ground staff / helpers to get the pitch "playable" ?

 

7 miles across the "fields of Essex" Maldon play at home to Leyton on their "always fairly wet pitch" ??

 

As I said - a cynical view ( or not ) !!

A bit rough accusing them of "Low" Morals the guys I knew were of the highest integrity!

 

Here the snow is deep and crisp and even! And the boy racers are doing doughnuts in the high street in front of buses on the snow! My cynical view is that is unwise!

A cynical view indeed, 2 miles up the road Cheshunt abandoned at 1-1,a point gained no doubt :-), poor old Abbey have to finish the game in the snow....

You forgot to mention winning 8-1 in the process. Probably just as well our game was called off, wouldn't have fancied the trip home from Witham in that weather.

I went up there.

 

At the time the game was called off I was surprised. However travelling back it clearly would not have finished.
