No good posing questions like that to staines and his many anon posting names Bobbys Hatt, because he has no concept of what a team playing with pride looks like.Speaks for its self really a creditable draw against the league's strongest team and yet a few days later lose 3-0-no pride,no consistency and clearly not good enough, and yet if the players are or could be good enough-no manager with motivating skills for more than one game and certainly no manager who can impose himself on the team.
Its not to late for change at this moment-but it soon will be!!

Bobby - yes we do have a better team than last season as can be measured by our league position compared to last year - points on the board dont lie - Sweetman has delivered.

Also rememeber that it is 10 years since Slough were in the Conference - are you expecting a clean run of league title wins to put us straight back into the conferance?

The reality is without a ground and the income from that, Slough will only be able to progress at a limited speed.

I am just grateful that Slough are still playing football, as this time last year there was a serious prospect of the club not being around at Christmas 2007!!!!!

If you want to watch football at conferance level you have two options - either be patient or go and join the Ebbsfleet circus.

Wiz I presume you weren't at the game last night? That is not a dig, because with the benefit of hindsight I probably wouldn't travel again. It took me three hours to get there from where I work and I missed most of the first half. I eventually got home at 11.45pm - so really was a fun night out.

Leighton are doing alright for themselves in the Midland equivalent of our division and have been scoring plenty of goals. So I wasn't expecting an easy game.

The first half was I'm told even with both teams barely mustering a shot in atrocious conditions. Given that down the road in Luton they gave up after 8 minutes I would say credit to both teams and the ref for sticking with it.

In the second half both sides clearly didn't fancy the possibility of extra time and penalties and went for it.

Their first goal came against the run of play and had a huge slice of luck to it. It was a hopeful shot from outside the area which Carl had covered only for a massive deflection to send it passed him. We immediately went down the other end and a deflected cross/shot from Pritchard hits the bar. We just didn't get the rub of the green in those two incidents.

I would say they dealt better with the conditions whilst our best players were hampered. At times it was very much a case of Bambi on ice.

They took advantage as we pressed for an equaliser and if truth be told eased to victory late on.

Disappointing result but creditable performance and we had looked on top for large parts of the game without being able to create too many clear cut chances, certainly looked interested and it was a very strong side that Sweets picked.

Funny i thought i was supposed to be wiz yet somebody else answered Staines ? Ho ho thats magic that ! I never expect to see Slough Town play Conference football again but Rymans Premier would be nice ! I know my lofty expectation is beyond the limited imagination of some but hey i grew up in an era of great teams in the Athenian & Isthmian leagues watching a Slough team that nobody laughed at ! a team that was the equal of Wycombe ( on the pitch ) and not light years behind them ! Is Wycombe really that much bigger as a town ?? As for the Conference ? No thanks ! a league obsessed with massive players kicking lumps out of each other in a desperate scramble for league football , we were always punching way above our weight in the Conference ( relegated once ) and certainly this apathetic town could never sustain league football so what would be the point ? furthermore i believe that pigs will fly over the town hall if we ever get a ground in Slough ! how many stages down the road will we get this time before the rug gets pulled and somebody else gets to build another selective school on the current proposed site ? Face it mate the council in Slough has its own agendas and most of its councillors would far rather watch cricket or hockey ! funny how both of those clubs got sorted eh ? get my drift without getting too deep into Slough politics ? So without our own ground it will be a miracle if we dont go the way of so many before and lose our identity through the need to merge with a team that has a ground ! I pray i wont see that happen but didnt one charming councillor suggest that already ? the one that pulled the last rug away on the very night of his election ! Oh well i suppose the less cynical ones can keep dreaming and i will keep my binoculars trained on the airspace over the town hall , assuming they havent already sold it off for development ! You mention Ebbsfleet ? a circus ? As i said i take no interest in conference football , what are they the latest moneyed up club on the scene ? ask them what happened to Fisher , Hornchurch etc. , etc. lol

Well really there were at least 40 because me and Jenny walked in through an open gate just before half time and were not counted!

I will quickly dispel your notions that i am a closet racist ! I gave simple facts , go ahead and tell me that its not true that the vast majority of Asian people prefer cricket / hockey to football ? Go ahead and tell me that the Sikh school wasnt given the very plot of land that we had been in negotiations for over the previous 18 months ? that originally the council had said they could provisionally name that land in their application for funding but it did not guarantee that they would get it ? but then hey presto when the officer dealing with our interest was off sick for 6 weeks the land was allocated to the school ? Go ahead and try and tell me that council didnt have an agenda of their own ? Some very good Sikh friends of ours told us at the time the application was put in that the school was getting the land 100 % and that the football club didnt have a prayer ! How did they know ? well lets just say they had relatives in the right places ! So is any of what i have said so far racist ? methinks not ! just factual ! To further rubbish your claims i pay fees for my son to attend an independent school that must have at least 75% Asian children , his best friend and our best friends are Sikhs and you call me a racist ? all anonymously of course ! LOL !

Could have been 40 as we have passes-the only ground I pay at is Slough's home games.
The main point as I see it is lack of motivation when things go against us-this is down to management surely. Both sides had to deal with bad conditions-are you saying every time there is going to be bad weather we must accept defeats ?
