Dover are signing a striker that's "good in the air" according to Kent Online - sound like Wilko?

Sad to see these players go - they have been stalwarts for the club and scored some great goals between them, but I guess we have to move on and if Andy brings in two faces that help us do better than last season, then it has to be done.

I wish to echo Stu's thoughts. Both Che and Craig have been excellent players for the fleet, always giving 110%.

Given that we have now lost Aaron and Craig, and with Ado still deciding whether to carry on playing, I presume Andy will give giving a lot of attention to the defence in the next few weeks.

It isn't much of a surprise, sadly. But I'm gutted that they are leaving (esp. Wilko)

When we are looking to capture players of quality and commitment, like Giles & Lovett (names bandied about on a previous thread) I hope we get players of these players' stature.

Good luck to them all wherever they end up. Thanks for your time and efforts for the club.

But if we are not to renew their contracts also means that we'll not receive a bean for any of them from transfers? The three must be worth a few quid between them surely?

Well, I must say I'm hugely disappointed to see Wilko and Che go (and the same with Aaron, as mentioned in a previous thread). If Wilko wants to play up front, you can clearly understand why he has left, given his frequent usage in defence this year. As one of our longest serving players in last season's side, and with a good goalscoring record, it's a shame to see him leave. All the best, Wilko.

However, whilst I wish Che all the best too, for he was one of my favourite Fleet players during his time at Stonebridge Road, I find his departure a little confusing. Assuming he was put on the transfer list earlier in the season at the club's wishes and not his own, it seems strange to not offer a contract to a player who, despite his detractors, again finished top scorer for us this year. (Or maybe Che wanted to leave, and I have got the wrong end of the stick. grin.gif)

These players have given excellent service to the club and deserve to find decent alternative clubs. I must echo jc in wondering about whether it was the club or Che who initiated the transfer listing. Does anyone know? Also does anyone know why Jay Lovett didn't feature in our last two games of the season, not even as a named sub?

Jay was OK as a cover player, but apart from his pace I didn't see anything amazing - there were couple of comedy miss kicks, and the tragic monotony of crossing the ball to Chesters' keeper for the last 10 mins of the home fixture - otherwise I would be more than happy to see Matt Lee return to replace him smile.gif
