I'm going to come in here. This is NOT the time to air your personal feelings towards the board or whoever you think might be to blame. We are in a sticky situation right now & talk like this wont help matters. Let those people you slag off now get us out of this mess first.Whatever you say about any board member I know for a fact they are trying their damndest to put matters right as we speak.

We need them right now & now is not the time for this. The club comes first & that should be what we should all be concentrating on,not personal vendettas.

Another time another day perhaps but definately not NOW!

I'm with Alex. For many different reasons. I am thankful for what the board have done in the past but the troubles all started with the stupid decision to knock down the old HDP without planning permission for the new ground. All the old HDP needed was a new seated stand and maybe changing rooms. Instead of that they decided to knock 3/4 of HDP down. Thats where it all went wrong. The club ended up spending stupid money ground sharing at Dover and Ashford. Attendances dropped and revenue in sponsorship dwindled.

There is only one person who can save this club (IMO)and he ended up going to Folkestone GW. He won't come back if one person remains and would he be interested if the opportunity was given to him !!! I don't know.

However I believe that todays decision may be the right one even though I liked Smith and Ashby.

I also have to hand it to the board members for getting us back to HDP. I just feel its time for change. I don't know whether anybody would want to buy MFC in its current state if the club were put up for sale.

I hope the current board prove me wrong and get the club out of this mess.

Funnily enough, I was thinking about this today at work before I knew the news. The club obviously had their reasons but to see us with poor crowds at Dover for almost a whole season while Hartsdown stood empty must have been throwing serious money down the pan.
The trouble is though, as much as it pains me to say, but I do not think a ground that does not have any extra's these days would be easy to finance and sustain. Crowds alone would not cover the costs so I think you have to look at a stadium with some form of extra income built in,
Having said that, a basic stand/changing room upgrade could have kept us in the Conference, with higher gates, later entry in the cup competitions and the higher prize money that comes with that. Not to mention the

Steve

Don't forget Steve, that the Husks were pulling out (or at least contemplating pulling out) of Dover at that time & our then Chairman instigated the demolition of Hartsdown without permission of the owners.... oops! sorry, just drifting into conspiracy theory mode again.

It really is sad how the club wasted the potential of the conference promotion.
They made really bad decisions and tried to blame anybody else they could.
IMO the club can not really move forwards until 1 person leaves.
