The latest pledge total released by the treasurer at the weekend is

Is it significant that the amount raised would certainly more than cover the interest between now and March on the amount reported as outstanding (and thus effectively loaned from HRMC )and then in march-if all goes to plan, the developer has,again if i understand correctly , pledged to pay off the amount outstanding ?

 

If that was proposed-i wonder whether HRMC would at least keep it going until March .

 

If only life were that simple i suppose

Would it be reasonable to ask for MISA or those donating to obtain shares in the club in return for these donations. Just an idea!!!

I think if someone has come in to put up the monies then our pledges should go towards it too, after all that's what fans pledged the monies for. I stress though we should only hand it over if we know it is going to pay of our tax bill.

Was told last night alan that the monies were being paid and that the 14 day period was the accumulative time period for which to pay! - Not sure as to the authenticity, but hopefully true

Spot on Alan.However nothing can guarantee us this will be used solely for that reason therefore & bearing that in mind the small percentage raised compared to the whole bill is small it should I feel be given to the club after full payment has been made & with confirmation of such.
I mentioned this before umpteen times on here & only last night I was speaking to KL & he agrees with me that this should be the way it is played. This is not my decision at the end of the day but M.I.S.A.s, however having been involved in this appeal a lot I want that money to be safe but also to be given to the club when the time is right.
Everyone who has contributed needs to know & more importantly to see that the monies donated have not only been for the purpose it was intended,to help free us from this burden, even if it is payed to the club AFTER settlement to the tax man has been made.This was not what was originally intended but with the small percentage raised compared to the entire debt it makes sense I feel to safeguard this money.We don't want it spent on other minor things within the club now do we?.
I would be extremely annoyed & upset should M.I.S.A change their minds & hand this amount over before full payment has been made.

I don't entirely agree with the monies being given to the club at this time. I think the money should be put into a seperate account to earn interest and stay there as a contingency fund until the whole project comes to fruition. We are not out of the woods yet and if we are in the same position in 12 months time we may well need that money. If the club are going to move forward it will do no harm to keep the money at this time. It is a relatively small amount but I would like to see it spent on something specific, maybe for the supporters, rather disappearing into the club without knowing where it has gone. That is not having a go at the directors either. It could also be discussed at the AGM.
