Returning to the main theme of this thread; i really don't know what to make of it.

Was it a surprise ? -not particularly-although it was earlier than i thought.

Was it pre-meditated some time ago ?-many perhaps think so.

Who should run a football club-imo-the Board-so to that extent i am with KP on this one.

I remember in the Trott days constantly saying 'who manages the manager'-unfortunately imo Trott was given much to much of a free reign and messed it up;and the Board acted a couple of months too late.

having said that, from the outside, the Board seem to have acted too quickly in this instance;and from the outside, look to have manufactured a reason to dismiss BA and PS ;when they seemed to be doing (just about ) ok to me.

I wish BA and PS well-and the same goes to TY .

Quite how the Borad will handle paying off BA and Smith contracts-or indeed an unfair dismissal claim-when supposedly there is no cash-i await with interest.

When one is not aware of the full circumstances-difficult to make a judgement-but from the outside it looks to me that the loosely muted reasons are minimally tenuous .

Again, ultimately, a Board of Directors need to run any business -and mangers must be managed.Could this situation have been managed better-i reckon so.

My biggest concern though is that for a club somewhere, i reckon BA and PS will make a great management team and it is probably Margate FC's loss ultimately.

Up the 'Gate and good wishes to TY

Maybe a bit more insight here into what has transpired-and credit to TY for pssibly endeavouring to avoid too much speculation.

I read he talks of a new man in charge-pity really -i was thinking more along the lines of a father and daughter management team-imagine the ongoing worldwide publicity and interest that would create

people are saying that the club are saving money by sacking ash and smudger.I wouldnt be surprised if ty earns more than ash and smudge put together,so for less money you would have been getting a manager, coach and a very important player.Maybe getting rid of ty would have been a better move and latting ash get on with running the team without people looking over his shoulder.

its strange as player and managers contracts are quite different from us normal workers.

I would had thought that they would just carry on paying them until the contract ends or, if there is money available , buy them out of it

although I am disappointed that the two have gone I always look at things as a new start

anyone want to give me odds of TY being appointed manager

A contract is that to which both parties agree; if there is a clause in a contract which one party finds unacceptable then it is up to both parties to reach an agreement. Therefore it largely depends upon how badly each party wants to continue the association as to the content of the contract.

Sort of thing.

Of course not. He would have been entitled to one week's pay in lieu of notice, plus holiday pay for any days not taken. Same as you if you've got a job.

Without seeing the contract you can not assume that.

Not all jobs have the same notice period. It would also depend as to if Ashby was sacked or walked and the reasons behind that.

You would need to ask the board to answer this if you want to know.
