That just about sums it up. The low point of the afternoon was this behaviour, sorry but it just does not help the team. Signed similar of Broadstairs.

Not there on saturday;so difficult to comment on the specifics; but surely by booing MP; that is equally booing the rest of the team.

Not nice.

Maybe worth listening to paul Smith's interview with Wellsie; where Paul Smith gives a strong condemnation of the booing and chanting-then make your mind up whether upon reflection it was necessary and appropriate ?

we all do things in the heat of the moment we subsequently regret though.

Smith also explains 'Powers style and what he is in the team to do.'

I would love to see MP get a brace of goals on Tuesday;and hear his name praised loudly

I'm going to come in here. As a previous supporter of Power & still am to some extent,I too thought he was poor yesterday. Even I berated him for trying an audacious back heel in the 1st half even though the whistle had blown a second before he made that effort.A bit too casual I thought. I apologise not for that 10 second blast. We HAVE to be putting those chances away, whistle or no whistle & I would have said similar to any other for missing a good opportunity similar to that.

However this player is much better than he is showing at the moment & if he can work on his game in training, not overplay the fancy but sometimes clever footwork & work a little harder when out there, he will come good I'm sure of it. Skill-wise he's probably the most skillful of the whole bunch.

The personal comments when he went off yesterday were one step too far though i.m.o.although I can understand peoples frustration. A few others could have been mentioned in a similar fashion yesterday, truth be told. He wasn't alone in underperforming.

I will say to Michael, come out next time & show everyone exactly what you do have in your tank. You know you are better than this,I know you are better than this.A comment that could be aimed at others too might I add.

Just listened to Smudge's interview. He states that "if you're not going to support the team, then don't come". Well, if that's the case, our average home crowd would be reduced to double figures. The majority of people stand there in silence, except the occasional negative comment. There were about 6 of us singing yesterday. We've cut out much of the 'abusive' language that many complained about, so what's your excuse now for not joining in with the odd 'Come on Margate' chant? There's only so much noise such a few can make.

Not exclusively. And not just one section of the crowd. I find "personal abuse" quite a funny one. I'm sure the poor bloke is devastated. Maybe he'll donate his wages for this week.

I don't think Mike was saying that at all, i think the point he was trying to make was that people have said in the past that they don't sing with us because of the songs we sing and what we shout out, we have cleaned up a lot imo and it still seems that no one is willing join in. However i don't think there is no right or wrong when it comes to how you support your team, because people react to things differently and people wish to show their expressions differently, however personal abuse towards a player isn't right in my opinion unless it's one of the officials, opposition players (within reason), Rob Butler, Ian Sanderson, the Wards and the whole Ramsgate squad.

I agree that Power had a terrible game but I don't like the boos aimed at a player, I am hoping he will come back tomorrow night and show us he can score goals like he did for Cray, because he does certainly have the ability but just didnt show it on Saturday.

The silent majority has been the case for at least 30 years when I and 10 other young supporters were the choir.

We sang without the use of any swear words which are still being used by todays choir

Margate fans have always singled out one player as a boo boy target however bad or well they play be it Paul Lamb, Vic Pain or Eddie Clayton that I recall over the years, Power has just been selected this year

I was a bit dismayed at the language used by the choir this week - the worst I can remember. They know there are loads of kids around (meant to be a family club) - alot right in front of them. I agree that in a highly charged / massively frustrated environment such as it can be, the odd expletive is going to pass the lips of someone close by every now and then. But surely we can be more articulate than yell out these things in front of kids in a premeditated manner.

Its just an opinion, though. I'm not against my kids hearing these words, but against the normalisation of them, thus being used 'appropriately' (...obviously includes some not at all...).
