Booing Your Own players

i see what your saying Ian, but we are in a perilous situation at the moment. we can't afford to have people wasting time and space by not putting any effort in. that booing is letting him know that that kind of performance is unacceptable

we've given him a great oppurtunity, to step up from the Kent league to play in Ryman Premier and he's wasting it by not putting any effort in. its not that hes playing bad, its that he isnt trying to play any better...

Apart from the first half hour we were awful today.

But the booing and shouts of Big Fat B@stard by a section of the home supporters as he was substituted, is in my opinion totally out of order. You pay your money, so suppose you can express your feelings about the game. Just thought that was really unnecessary, it's not going to help him or the team.

Disagree AB. We're all entitled to our views as you rightly say. For many, today was the straw that broke the camels back. A terrible performance lacking in character. And the player who was booed doesn't look to be interested. I'm expecting people to defend the bloke, because some people believe under no circumstances should criticism be levelled at a player. However, when people are being paid decent money to play football they should be working their socks off. This I am afraid is not the case IMO.

Stu, he's not stepped up two leagues. He was at Cray and before that Tonbridge. So he's had experience of the Ryman Prem before, and was a complete flop then too with just one goal all season.

Have to agree with you on the performance Porka, probably the worst performance in years, but I really didn't like the Big Fat B@stard venom hurled at him. Just have to put it down to the fact I come from different era. Will say no more. See you on Tuesday evening, I expect. Signed P1ssed off of Cliftonville.

Have admit I don't like the idea of booing your own players, however I think the display was poor and there should be some way of showing your displeasure. An ironic cheer might be mis-interpreted, perhaps the 'Cheerio, Cheerio' chant like that used when (opposition)players are dismissed or an alternative as the Americans chant 'Na Na Na Nah, Na Na Na Nah, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye!'

Always thought it was a nice addition to have the thoughts of the Scum on here but, do us all a favour Sanderson, and just f**k off back to your graveyard forum. We all know the strife that the club is in and, although I personally didn't boo said player, I can understand why it happened. And your 'contributions' are not needed.

His performance today to put it politley was inept. Did he deserve the treatment probally not but, I could have so easily joined in myself.

However, he did have the courage to come into the bar afterwards rather than slope off as another player always seems to. I did not speak to him but, when the poision spotty faced twat pulled his leg about it he seemed to laugh it off.

If you were not there I do not know how you can comment on it.

I would never boo a player of the team I support - maybe it's my age or maybe it's something else. It happens at most clubs, at West Ham there are a section of the crowd who have to boo Luis Boa Morte come what may. What I always find strange is that the booers are always waiting for something to boo at - anything the player does well will get ignored but as soon as he makes a mistake or doesn't put in the effort they think he should the boos ring out. Other players can get away with anything but the "Jonah" can only do wrong and will be told every time he does.

Do what you like - I don't like it but it's your choice.
