OK, so what's the feedback on having the forum registered only? I don't think it has solved the problem which initiated the move in the first place, but has prevented further stoking of the fire between two or three people who appear to be more concerned at arguing with one another than discussing the football.

Do we stay registered only or move back?

The only advantage I can see of registered users only is that if I choose to use the option of ignoring every post by a particular user I can. I don't so may as well go back.

It doesn't matter either way because the people arguing are all registered. It will not stop until either:

RWG vanishes

RWG only offers an opinion and not abuse or patronisation

We learn to ignore the above.

This is not in anyway denying his right to voice his opinion.

The hockey forum I read is registered only BUT you have to supply a proper name, address and e-mail (i.e. no hotmail accounts). Therefore the moderators know exactly who is who (and can act upon the sort of rubbish we have to deal with on here). As a result it is far more enjoyable to read than most of what goes on here.

It does not matter if the moderators know who someone is.

It is more about the actions of the moderators to stop the issues that have been raised - I have called Wizard (RWG) names etc. and vice versa and the moderators have done nothing! and to be honest whilst I and he and others can get away with it, it will continue.

How many times have posts been locked or removed? - only a handfull in the last year and most of them were spam based.

Glen W raises a very valid point about people posting "good stuff" on here - well where are those posts?

On this current page of threads there are only 10 that relate to the first team and their performance, the rest are a complete mess of issues that include subjects on other teams (2 on other teams managers), birthdays, babies and knitting!!!!

I think this variety has its place on this forum but where are the football posts about Slough Town???

If you want a quality forum it is up to you to contribute to it and the moderators to police it effectivly.

Staines, your points about moderators has been noted and we are actually working on something to improve this.

At the same time you raise the point about name calling between yourself and RWG. Don't you think thats something that perhaps you could have not done off your own back? Its not hard and at the same time could you not tell by peoples responses that they were also fed up by it.

Stoking things up and trolling for responses is not helpful.

I could create that, but would mean moving away from fans focus...

But there is no deterant to name calling! - you are a moderator - what did you do?

Also the key point is about the input of good posts - I posted a post about us winning 4-0 for the first time since 28-03-05 - a significant achievement for the club and it had just 2 replies (one being Nathan correcting my dates! ;)), are people not intrested in the clubs progress and wanting to celebrate that it is still in existance and moving forward?

People may not agree with what I post and the style that it is put across, but I am on here praising when it goes well and not scared to post when things go wrong - unlike some who are quick enough to have a dig at games but strangely remain silent on here and even posting the opposite of what they said at the game!
