I wouldn't normally say yes, but this place has been rubbish the last few weeks. I have been very much in favour of leaving it open so that supporters of other clubs can post, but the inability of people to stop biting and responding to people like 'RWG' when they feel they're being wound up, makes for a very boring read. You have to end up sifting through the crap to find any posts about football. I think maybe it would be worth making it registered only for a few weeks and see how we get on - but I'd still much rather see people just learn to ignore wind-up merchants.

If registered only I would`nt bother.Life long supporter.I rarely comment on here. I usually look at site on fridays & sundays if I miss the match.Whilst I understand the reason to go reg. only I choose to ignore 50% of entries by the idiots although I can laugh at them

One of the good things about this forum is that it is one of the few I have seen which allows anonymous posters. I often go onto another teams forum before a match to look at their comments but cannot be bothered to register for just one or two posts. Yes we get some annoying posts, yes it has been a bit rubbish on here recently but I'm not sure this is the way to go, but we would often lose the posts from other supporters from other clubs. I'm staying out of the voting on this one!

I'm with Dan on this - keeping the option open allows anyone - oppo fans, new fans and on occasion players - to comment immediately.

I agree some of the anons are twerps, for want of a better word, but I just exercise my ability to skip past the bile that comes out of some of their keyboards. Even when, in the past, some of it has been unfairly directed at me.

Have to agree with Brighton Rebel - the forum does benefit from contributions from oppposition fans and players, with wind-up merchants being a minority of anon posters. In any case, whats to stop the idiots from simply registering and posting that way?

They already do.

I have no beef with anonymous postings; I did it myself for the several months it took me to figure out how to register. In the grand scheme of life a few mischievous comments on here is nothing to get your knickers in a twist about and as young Nathan quite correctly states, making folk register wouldn

Can't the Mods already ban specific IP addresses though?

Whenever the registered users only question is raised, it always appeared to be directed at one idiot in particular (Optimistic, RWG etc.). Why should we make genuine contributors (opposition fans who may not want to register for 2 or 3 posts) suffer?

One persons drivel is another persons conversation. Dave Programmes posts about train journeys don't exactly grip me but I'm not going to delete them.

As for personal attacks being removed, does that include singling out individual players for having a (subjective) bad performance? That could be an awful lot of deletions

I personally enjoy dave programmes accounts of his train journeys so yes it is subjective.

Just out of interest KT when was the last time you had to delete a post.
