one game to far...

Uncle Urchin

Recommended Posts

for us tonight after 4 matches in ten days but thats the way it goes and although a disappointing performance from the urchins tonight its been coming after some very high tempo and tough games....the boys looked knackered and sometimes the lack of squad size catches up with a team...

started sharply enough but the tempo of the game was low and after a couple of missed chances we seemed to kinda get lost in the quiet atmosphere of the bridge tonight and allowed the lively maidstone players the freedom of the second ball which is always critical.....

it happens and as disappointing as it was for us and the players we move onwards towards saturday and the boys now have a few days rest to get revitalised....they have earned it IMO over the past 10 days...

not a good night at the bridge to be frank but the players and the fans will be ready for saturday for sure and we'll just have to put that one tonight behind us....

well done maidstone and well done the few hardy souls from both camps who turned out on the cold autumn night and well done the urchin players for nearly... sooo nearly... getting extra time...it may well turn out to be a blessing in disguise that they didn't...!!

weymuff here we come...smile

in fairness to the stones they were very organised and very hard to break down and we all know if the customary jesus lob had gone in it might have bin a different story, chances either end but the stones were more clinical.well done to there travellin fans on a very subdewed eastside and good luck at swindon and against the wombles.as for us we will regroup, dust ourselves down, roll our sleeves up and do battle against the muff on saturday

I really enjoyed watching the football played in the first half. Good fast game and pretty even i thought.

Stones No6 impressed me with his tricky footwork. They had a bunch of fringe players on display last night who put up a fine display to push forward. The team without a number of 1st teamers had nothing to lose and a lot to prove and they did themselves justice.

I looked on the Stones forum http://www.smtwtgh.co.uk/ and they seemed to think it was one of the best displays they'd seen this season!

Good luck to the Stones in the F.A.T

Now, back to the F.A Cup cheerleader
