Assuming all players are fit what would be your starting line up/ formation

I'd play 4-4-2 with the line up as follows

GK: Jamie Jackson

LB: Eamonn McConigley

CB: Luke Evans

CB: Ryan Fenton

RB: Dean HArper

LM: Byron Bubb

CM: James Pritchard

CM: Glen Harris

RM: Yashwa Romeo

CF: Danny Jordan

CF: Matt Platt

What you reckon?

I'd play 3-5-2 myslef

Jackson

Harper Evans Fenton

Harris Brown Bubb Pritchard McConigley

Platt and Jordan

Exceptionally harshly that leaves Yash on the bench. But the prospect of his pace in the second half would be a great option to have.

I think from our current squad I'd like to see:

Jackson

McConigley, Fenton, Evans, Harper

Harris/Bubb, Fermie, Brown, Romeo

Pritchard

Jordan

Would also like to fit Platt in there as I wouldn't want him out of the team. I think the midfield has more solidity in it with both Brown and Fermie and retains the attacking ability of Harris/Bubb and Romeo on the flanks getting forwards to support Pritchard and Jordan.

not a lot (if any) slough fans have seen enough of Fermie to know what he is capable of i wouldnt have thought. he has played 2 games and isnt fully match fit so its hard to judge at this stage

I'd go back to when we were last really successful and follow suit from the style there. When we had a back three of Daly, Saulsbury and Murphy they were protected by two holding midfielders in Wilko and Metcalfe allowing the likes of Chopper, Hodges and Murphy/Seedel to do their thing. So i'd play both Brown and Fermie as holding players, expecially at this time when our back four's confidence is shot to pieces.

As for two of the front three, that's a major headache, but a great one to have. I'd say DJ and another as he's the one that links our play so well. I'd probably go (When all fully fit)

5-3-2

Gk: Jackson

RB: Durrant

CB: Harper

CB: Evans

CB: Fenton

LB: McGoingley

CM: Brown

CM: Fermie

CM: Harris

FW: Romeo

FW: DJ

With Pritch, Platt and Bubb on th bench. Although my view at centre back may change if we make any signings this week!!

As has been said before the best team is not the highest rated 11 players but a group of 11 players that play as a team and get results - football is a team game.

Scouts identify players with talent - a manager puts together those individuals into a functioning team - you need leaders, thinkers, doers etc. refer to Frederick Herzbergs writings on the subject.

In any case with suspensions, injuries, holidays etc. it is unlikly you would have a perfered line up available, so you will always have to make comprimises.

So no Durrant in the team or on the bench?

I agree with McGonigley playing lwb because he is a natural left back and he has looked quite good bombing forward and Fenton can cover for him but Harper has looked very vulnerable when isolated at right back and a WB's job is to forage forward at every oppotunity and if the move breaks down to get back into defence pronto. I don't think Harper has ever played that role and I'm not sure that he could.

Couldnt disagree with you more Mark.... Prit very creative and good at making openings... Fermie very good at winning the ball and looking for a short pass.

Id play them both.

I hate to say it but i agree completely only possible (and i am unsure whether it would work) change for me might be Allaway making way for Brown and Brown swapping to WB so Deano plays CB.

Again no Durrant? Durrant is a right back so why not play him there instead of someone who's not a right back. Ok, Brown or Harper can cover there if needed but imo Durrant is certainly a better right back than either of them.
