Dorking returned to winning ways with a good win at Warlingham, putting behind them last weekend's disappointing home defeat.

Dorking got off to a perfect start, with Phil Page scoring for Chicks after only 4 minutes, and that undoubtedly settled Dorking's nerves as they went on to comfortably win this game against opposition who had sat just behind the leading few clubs going into this game.

Dorking had been boosted before the game by the return of leading scorer Dan Bennett, who along with Lester Boniface and Page, looked dangerous throughout the match as Chicks always looked capable of adding to their score on the break with their pacy, incisive attacks. And with Dan Stassinos adding experience to the line up, Dorking will go into the next few games with renewed confidence, especially given the return to the squad of Aaron Leathingy, who had looked impressive for Chicks in their opening 10 or so games of the season.

Warlingham had been on the back of a good run of results, and after a sequence of reverses for Dorking, Warlingham must have fancied their chances of adding to their points tally. But if Warlingham were expecting an easy afternoon they were quickly disabused of the idea, Page scoring his early goal to set up the Dorking win.

A second goal for Dorking 10 minutes from half time by captain Roy Newman gave Dorking a good cushion at the interval, and that lead got even better on 47 minutes when midfielder Terry Fennessey scored again to make it 3-0 for the visitors.

Warlingham pulled a goal back through Ang on 70 minutes, but Dorking were in no danger of conceding the points, and a penalty 10 minutes from time by substitute Victor Donker, on for defensive midfielder Andy Briant sealed a solid win for Dorking.

The last 10 minutes saw ex youth player Will Renton Rose join the fray in place of Phil Page, with young full back Martin Waldren also adding fresh legs to the cause.

Manager Tony Webb will now be looking for Dorking to build on this result and push themselves firmly into midtable and beyond, the team still having several games in hand over teams above them due to their earlier cup exploits this season.

Crescent Rovers 4-2 Knaphill

Knaphill suffer set back in pursuit of league title

Knaphill went into this game in third place of Division One against third from bottom Crescent Rovers and one would have envisaged the visitors gaining maximum points based on the current league form of both teams. But Crescent Rovers turned the result in their favour in a game that produced a lack lustre performance from Knaphill.

They looked disjointed from early on in the game and conceded two goals inside the first twenty minutes. The first came as early as the fourth minute, courtesy of some poor marking in defence, allowing Doherty to slot home. The goal gave Crescent a bright start and they came close to a second four minutes later, the effort sailing just over the bar.

Slow and indecisive at times, allowing the Rovers front men the initiative to penetrate the visitors defence, whilst Knaphill offered an early chance of scoring, but Baker

Hi Kents, week off work, dossing at home smile earned a good point against NGU on Saturday, report below from the Bookham site.

Hope you all busy at work grin

Premier: Bookham 1 North Greenford Utd 1

Bookham hosted North Greenford looking to halt a run of 4 successive defeats and avenge a 3-2 away fixture reverse just 2 weeks ago. With Danny Carnota partnering Tim Moffatt in the centre of midfield and Alex Mcgregor moving further forward to support Mark Jarman up front, Bookham started the game at a good tempo and had the better of the early exchanges.

Danny Oliver and Stuart Padgett at the heart of the defence were doing a great job of keeping the experienced Liam Bird and the pacey Andre Delisser quiet. With the full backs Julian Van Gelder and Sam Currie limiting the supply the visitors were forced to try to attack mainly down the middle. Bookham had a great chance to open the scoring in the 12th minute when Jarman burst between the visitors centre backs but was foiled by the onrushing keeper.

The striker atoned for the earlier miss in the 28th minute when concerted pressure saw a goalmouth scramble that allowed Jarman to poke the ball home.

Minutes later keeper Cupit had to be alert to foil Hillier who shot from just inside the box.

The second half saw North Greenford come back strongly. Playing a more direct game they pinned the home team back and Cupit had to be at his best on several occasions as an equalizer looked far more likely than a second Bookham goal. James Piercy and Jordan Buche were introduced to try to stem the flow and take the game back to the visitors.

North Greenford equalized with 12 minutes remaining when Delisser's fine cross was met by Josh Woods giving Cupit no chance. With both teams looking for the winner the visitors nearly snatched it but Bird was foiled by a fine Cupit save with almost the last kick of the game.

Next Saturday, 25th October, Bookham entertain Cobham at Meadowbank kick off is at 3pm.

TEAM: D. Cupit, S. Currie, J. Van Gelder, D. Oliver, S. Padgett, R. Davies (J. Piercy), D. Carnota, T. Moffatt, M. Jarman, A. Mcgregor (J. Buche), B. Ramsey.

I am afraid I walked away from managing Frimley Green on saturday after the Feltham match. I have not decided what the future holds whether it is playing, managing or walking away from football altogether. I have been given a few days by the committee to re-think my decision. I will be at Cove tomorrow night but will not be able to get there until the second half so will have a beer with Duncs and JJ (only if JJ is buying)

Sorry to hear that SL, especially with the big Vase game to come. All the best in whatever you decide (hopefully not the latter option!).
