I would like to ask a few of these gossip's why we should be looking for a new manager when Sir Mick had lead us from Mid table Third Div to Prem in Two season. If anyone else would of done that then they would of been Knighted.

 

A few of these New supporters have very short Memories!!

I'm not a gossip at all...and I'm certainly not saying that Mick should go ...as you say he has done a fantastic job (mind you for this level he's certainly had the money to play with).

 

I DID see GB & CL at our games and I DO know that several managers have been interviewed.

 

This I'm sure will all be confirmed in time..and to repeat I have no interest or benefit from `gossiping'.

you certainly did see those managers at our games and probably a good few others as well.....

 

we are a progressive football club and all managers.... chairman and officials from other clubs are welcome to the Stadium.

 

as for you knowing that 'other managers have been interviewed....well...you know more than we do because they haven't and that's most certainly the case...so.....

Although there was some friction in the early days with us boroboys. We now seem to have built up some mutual respect, which was underlined on Tuesday.

 

However, if Marsden was sacked in the name of greed, then that respect would soon diminish amongst many of us.

You can tell summer is here and there's nothing to talk about. Look and listen people, those in the know have said Mick ain't leaving and ain't being replaced, so lets drop it shall we!

Dead right and of course these forums are the only real outlet to allow us to develop those opinions

I just feel that GB is solid non-league but with the increasing pursuit of excellence from the feeder leagues upwards I would have thought a club like your own would have gone for a proven pro coach

 

On personal opinions the following is typical of opinion on the Shots forum

If that mail from Borg was genuine on the message board, pouring out congratulations etc, then I feel sick. He made us the most hated team in the Ryman and in the end turned on the Shots' fans and blamed them for poor performances ont he pitch !He left with £30 grand from the club (the latest set of accounts clearly refer to it specifically, 'compensation for loss of office' or something similar) and had the cheek to launch that centre spread in the Non-League Paper trying to destroy our club's reputation.

I attended the Bryco cup final and liked a lot of what I saw and do wish you well into next season, but GB!!

there is a longer term view in place pabird that hopefully will prove to be the right view.......as you know......one successful season doesn't make us Premier League Contenders....we have to ensure that the right experience is in place for next seasons campaign....

 

the thinking behind Mick wanting George is to ensure that Mick can carry still carry on with his own brand of management..... whilst at the same time integrating George into the coaching role.....will it work.....

interesting paste there pabird.....trouble is there are always fans that will have positives and negatives to say about a manager...(see tonights ricay forum)...

 

george wont have the same scope that he had at aldershot......he's a coach not our manager....Marsden runs the dug out and believe me....anyone that mistakes his quiet nature for being a pushover is always in for a surprise....

 

anyway...its done I'm told so.......lets hope it all works out.....knowing both him and Mick....I have a feeling it might do......the odd couple comes to mind......

 

as for your visit to our humble abode.....glad that you enjoyed your day...look forward to seeing you again....

PSS. How do we explain the following from the Boreham wood news page

 

10-05-04

Boreham Wood FC have confirmed that George Borg has been appointed First Team Manager. Chairman Danny Hunter said "that being relegated from the Ryman Premier was a major blow, but he was comfortable with where the club would be in two years time". Danny also confirmed that Micky Engwell will remain at the club.
