MFC vs Hendon LIVE commentary from Hartsdown Park

I really think that questions need to be asked about the ability of Power. It seems to me that he doesn't try hard enough, he doesn't win balls and certainly never chases for anything. Poor Kenny & Stubbs are running themselves into the ground out there and then there is the likes of him strolling around. It just isn't good enough.

We can not get creating chances and not taken them, it is losing us games.

I also thought that Peters had a good game today and Quaine when he came on. There were defiantly positivies to be taken from the game, but something needs to change up front.

A thought to raising cash, how about presenting Barry Ashby with a swear box, I reckon he could make us a fortune lol.

Up the Gate.

From what i saw of the game today and how i looked at it is if you have a flapper in goal you will have a back 4 flapping as well . SCS is not what he was im affraid , it has showed over the 4 games he was out that if you have a compitent keeper in goal ( BUTCHER ) then your back 4 will be more settled for the game . Roll on Mullins being fit he was not that bad when the season started and has to be our No 1 . Up the Gate .

My take on Power is that he has a superb touch and turn, but seems to be lacking fitness. The guy just seems too deep all the time. The occasions when Gregory, Stubbs or Pratt got to the byline with a crossing opportunity and looked up to find no-one in the box are ridiculous. Powere generally seems to be about 25 yards out when he should be sniffing around the penalty spot.

But as I said he has a good touch so maybe he just is not fit enough.

As for everyone else, I think that we have a starting eleven that could match anyone in the Ryman Premier. The trouble is that when a change has to be made, we have not got the players to match those coming off.

When Smith was withdrawn the whole shape was gone and we looked nowhere near as effective in the second half. Also, things were tougher when Stubbs and Gregory went off. If we could keep the same eleven on for the ninety minutes (without them tiring) we would be beating teams such as Hendon (no disrespect intended).

Seems that the only people who didn't think it was a foul were the ref and his assistant down there. Our player involved said he expected to see a red card. That said, had you taken the chances you had in the first half, it wouldn't have been a talking point. You were very unfortunate today while we won 'ugly'.

Good luck with the Inland Revenue and for the rest of the season (except your visit to whichever home we choose that week!)

On thr subject of mick power, he most definately isnt a Striker in this division, a Midfielder maybe. he takes far too many touches on the ball and tends not to be in the "BOX" where most strikers are meant to be, having said that where are the goals coming from this season - kenny is strained enough as it is - maybe terry yorath can HELP!!!!!

Its nearly a third way into the season so what the hell is he doing being unfit. Not good enough.

There was a post lat week on the ryman forum stating that jackson had now retired from the game.

Probably the usual unfounded forum speculation though without foundation.

I was also wondering if Dryden will go to another Ryman Premier club-maybe Sutton/Staines ? i.e a club with a bit of money to pay his wages.Maybe Tonbridge-but have they got the money either ?
