We shouldn't have lost that, another late goal conceded to Thatcham and it costs us again. Was a pretty even game I thought and we at least deserved a draw.

So frustrating that we could not hold on at 4-4. Can't really blame individuals but as a team we cannot defend properly and that is what is costing us.

It was a game of pathetically poor defending from both teams.

 

We had the chance to play two full backs in their proper positions i.e. Maconigley at left back and Durrant at right back and what happens, Durrant is on the bench. Not too sure who was playing right back in the first half but certainly Riddell seemed to be playing there in the second half and was given the run around by their winger.

 

If we defend like that against Truro it will be a cricket score.

 

But have no fear I've heard we signed two players and one of them is a midfielder

Again the Slough supporters travelled in numbers - yet again to see us lose to a team as bad as us in defence , to get back into a game so late on and only having to kick the ball away ,and waste some time - we were hit with a sucker punch !

 

No more mid feild players please - We need defenders ..no if buts or whats -

 

Credit to our forwards today ...they did their job and Matt was very unlucky with the shot that hit the bar and bounced down ..and just missed crossing the goal line...this would have put us 4- 2 up..but it was not to be !

 

and the Slough Crowd went home again wondering what will happen next match !

A very different game to Tuesday, but the defending was more of the same. It was shambolic (from both sides actually - but we were worse) - hence the silly scoreline. It's absolutely criminal to pull it back to 4-4 and then lose in the last minute, just when we were looking forward to the replay. Funnily enough if you leave players unmarked in the box, they tend to hit the target.

 

We will always score goals with the three strikers we have, but this week in training the players need to focus on defending, defending and defending, in that order, and bloody sort it out.

 

Good to see Jackson, McGonigley and Fenton return though. Let's hope they can all get fully fit soon.

I actually thought we played quite well, just the defending, or lack of it that has cost us. In the two games we've played Thatcham i've actually been quite impressed with them going forward, but to let in five goals is silly.

 

We miss Evans massively. I hope he's back next week and we bring in 1-2 defenders. The Durrant one puzzled me as well. I thought he's be our first choice right back, yet Rids (a midfielder) plays there. Glad Eammon was back though as he brough balance to the team.

 

I know we lost and we've conceded 11 in the last two games, but sort the defence out and we'll be a difficult team to play against.

Slough's new Era???

Thought it wasn't individuals fault. Fenton back and pathetic at the back!!! Evans, still not playing, why, because he will always get booked, sent off or give away penalties. Fermie will not make a difference on his return. People should listen to RWG. He has valid points, there are so many lads that will give all to Slough, yet some are there just for money. If you think there is no budget at Slough then you are all very much mistaken.

Think the game was lost yesterday when Romeo was taken off as he looked a threat when he had the ball. Something that was noted on the Thatcham forum too.

 

Yet again defending has cost us. We are scoring so many goals that it should be possible for us to win by 2 or 3 but we can't. The goal difference, if we keep shipping so many goals, could be something that decides whether we manage to finish in a play off position or not.

Anon, you are talking absolute drivel. Evans is not playing because he has an injury. Fermie played from the start yesterday and is not due to return. Of course there is a Budget and I don't think anyone has said different.

It might be difficult for you but next time I should think before you post.

this time i'mthinking before i post RR. Fermie is nothing but an ex goal keeper, who has done nothing n his career. Fenton has never and will never be a southern league player, got to the vase final, wow, that level is only glorified park football, all your posts when we got relegated said so, but we was lucky to get a reprieve. Evans will cost us 12 points a season because of his pace and inability to win the ball. Brown was a cast off of Burnham. Jordan is probably the only decent signing we have made. On the Budget Slough has, we should be walking the league. Do not be fooled into thinking we do not have a budget. A new manager with knowledge of local players is needed

How do you know what the budget is.

a mate of mine down the pub reackons windsors budget is 3k a week which seems a little excessive if you ask me,to give you an idea of budgets he said maidenheads is 5k and sloughs about 2 and a half.

and burnhams? less than 5oo quid.
