Bowers beat them 4-0 last Saturday in the GBMT, then APSA lost 0-4 again during the week at Burnham Rambos. I think they are struggling for fit players at he moment.

Richard, Joe's game kicks off at 2:00pm today (Next door to the Hive) if it doesn't go to extra time, I'll come and join you for the second half.

I totally agree Richard.Playing 16 games in the first 2 months of the season(1/3 of the total) is a bit too much.The other 32 matches will be played in the 6 months up to 4th week in April.Why don't we prolong the season an extra 2 weeks( about 12th May )and avoid all this cramming games into the first weeks.We are the only country in northern Europe that doesn't have a winter break and like the Scandinavian ones we should play football when is warmer so people are tempted to go out.Total madness if you ask me!! ezicon

Which makes it an exciting campaign for everyone. Enfield and Romford are the favourites but I hope neither (or both) run away with things. They are the two likely and capable of going on a ten game winning streak.

 

Basildon have started really well, be interesting to see how they bounce back from the Romford set-back.

 

Then you have Takeley who started with losses but are now the form side in the league, they look strong.

 

That leaves the likes of Eton Manor and Southend Manor to mount a challenge for top 6 places. With everyone taking points off each other, I would still say that B'side, Bowers and Burnham can still do something.

WH1941....who are your club mate? You seem to have a strong hatred towards Basildon.

 

The reason they are top half is because they are doing well as a collective unit both on and off the pitch. I doubt whether they will make the top 4 but a top 6 position could be a target IMHO.

 

What are Takeley like then? Are they the same squad that finished second in the Intermediate last season?
