Was Lee (Big) Harvey Any Good?

Recommended Posts

The results appear conclusive, with 8 people saying that Lee Harvey was the worst central defender we've ever had, 2 simply say he was cr@p, whilst 4 aliases, sorry, members, say yes, he was good.

A trifle unfair over Al-James Hannigan, Rob.

A £5000 signing-on fee, £400 per week and a car for a knackered has-been, yes, I'll agree.

But is it fair to compare him with [big] Lee Harvey? If I remember rightly, the better comparison would be with Michael Mison, that lump of lard who played for Sutton last season. Another £5000 signing-on fee and he was to play alongside Al-James to form the impregnable defensive shield in front of Batty. What a season that was going to be. Wembley and The Conference.

As Mison didn't actually show up at The Park, and never wore the yeller'n'blue in anger, he probably doesn't count.

Those were the days. It brings a tear to my eye.
