League Table based on recent form

OK, so it's a quiet day at work. I worked out what the final table would be if teams played consistently based on their last 6 results. Here it is, unfortunately the pagination won't transfer across.

GF GA GD PTS

Brentwood Town 75 22 53 110

Waltham Abbey 78 21 57 97

Aveley 65 26 39 86

East Thurrock 104 69 35 86

Leyton 87 56 31 82

Redbridge 73 43 30 75

Maldon Town 64 32 32 73

Concord Rangers 72 43 29 72

Ware 91 68 23 72

Wingate & Finch 69 53 15 68

Enfield Town 111 77 34 66

Thamesmead Town 67 71 -4 59

GW Rovers 59 46 13 58

Potters Bar Town 75 51 24 56

Cheshunt 52 64 -11 52

Tilbury 66 52 14 51

Chatham Town 70 72 -2 45

Northwood 50 43 7 43

Hillingdon B 27 116 -89 19

Ilford 11 99 -87 12

Waltham Forest 19 109 -91 10

Witham Town 45 160 -115 9

Biggest movers: Northwood drop 7 places, Wingate & Finchley and Tilbury drop 4 each. Thamesmead move up 5, Maldon and Enfield Town move up 3 each.

The teams in the top 5 seem to be the most consistent, which is what we'd expect from succesful teams.

Goals scored: At the top are Enfield Town with 17, followed by East Thurrock with 15 and then Ware at 13. At the bottom are Hillingdon with 4, then Waltham Forest with 2 and then Ilford who have only managed 1 goal.

Goals conceded: At the top are Waltham Abbey at 2, then Brentwood and Maldon at 3. At the bottom are, unsurprisingly, Waltham Forest with 16, Hillingdon with 17 and Witham with 23. However, Witham have managed to score in each of their last 6 games.

Another quiet day.....

Based on current form, the table will end up as follows:

Ware

Aveley

Brentwood Town

Waltham Abbey

East Thurrock United

Wingate & Finchley

Cheshunt

Great Wakering Rovers

Leyton

Maldon Town

Potters Bar Town

Northwood

Redbridge

Tilbury

Enfield Town

Concord Rangers

Thamesmead Town

Chatham Town

Waltham Forest

Ilford

Hillingdon Borough

Witham Town

Biggest gains:

Up 6 - Potters Bar Town

Up 5 - Great Wakering Rovers

Up 2 - Ware

Up 2 - Aveley

Biggest losers:

Down 7 - Concord Rangers

Down 3 - Waltham Abbey

Down 2 - Northwood

Down 2 - Redbridge

Down 2 - Thamesmead Town

Enfield Town's current form is 12th best in the league, and unless they win their next two matches, it will drop down a peg or two.

On the plus side, and if my calculations are correct, if (and it's a gigantic supersize if) all results go our way, we can go top when we beat Waltham Abbey on 27th December. If (and it's a ginactic mahussive world-bogglingly large if) results continue to go our way, we will be crowned champion when we beat East Thurrock United on 14th March.

Remeber, you heard it here first.

If current form is maintained or as I will predict will be improved even further then a play off spot is realistic, it's about knocking up those 3pts game after game which is not beyond us seeing the new arrivals of late as well as a first team coach who is in the know and of extraordinary high stanards, certainly too high for those who jumped ship at the thought of being left out the team.

All we need is the weather to settle so we can play a few games to prove it.

It looks like the majority of teams in the league will be playing twice a week with so many games being postponed over the past couple of weeks.

This could be an advantage for us if we get a good momentum of wins together along with our large squad which many other teams wont have at there disposal and possibly may not cope with injuries and suspensions.

I personally feel this league is still there for us to make a challenge, but its up to the lads who wear the shirt on the pitch to give us that chance.
