What ever you say about last night it was a disgrace, the only player who can hold his head up today was DJ who actually put 100% effort in as usual, the service he is getting is woeful and what is this excuse about players being played out of position, desperate times call for desperate measures we showed little fight, we are so unfit, when you looked at windsor warming up and their workout you can tell we are second rate.

Im also beginning to think WIZ is right when you see the passion of keith scott and our lot there is a marked difference. im trying to imagine if windsor had been 3-0 down at half time what he would have done, he would have gone beserk instead of being passive.

I think you will find the budget at Windsor is very high and in fairness they played a very quick tempo game 1st goal would grace many a premier ground and a couple of the others weren't bad either, the back 4 was a problem you had effectivly all 4 out of position Durant right playing left riddell mid playing rightside center back harper right centre back playing left side and brown midfield playing right back not easy to point this out you try playing like it

Anon, I don't think your quite right. Agree Durrant is a right back and was playing at left back and Brown is a midfielder. Riddell is a midfielder but has played at centre back before and Harper was playing in his normal position of centre back, so effectively 3 out of 4 were playing out of position.

You say 'we are so unfit' but why?

We've played the same amount of games as most teams and we train twice a week. So, apart from players carrying an injury why do you seem to think we are so 'unfit'

Or is it just that we have a group of players who, in general are just not that quick especially compared to Windsor players?

I agree about the fitness its a thing that has kind of shone through the season.

Windsor despite being quick as a team, looked much sharper to the ball in every position.

Towards the end of the game Windsor still looked fresh and I know they have done tests to show their improvement in fitness and stamina from last season.

Windsor will be among the fittest teams in the league. They were doing double sessions on Saturdays in pre-season. They also have a massive budget which is why they are able to keep players like Chennells and Paul Coyne (best midfielder in the league by the way!)

Even so, it seems as if Slough are spending a bit of money. Romeo, Bubb, DJ, Evans, Harris will all be on good money and I reckon Dickens, Durrant, McGonigley and the other new boys would be getting more than they were getting at their previous clubs last year!

With Harper and Riddell missing form tomorrows line-up I should imagine the centre back pairing will be Gumbs and Fenton.

If I wasn't mistaken I saw Maconigley joining in the pre-match warm-up before the Windsor game. Hopefully he will be the other person returning from injury which will enable him to play left back and Durrant to switch to right back.

It has been mentioned that Luke Evans got injured when he got sent off at Taunton but then he played a blinder for 90 minutes at Farnborough.

Does anybody know exactly what the problem is with him?

Harper's suspension begins against Truro and I think Riddell's will start after tomorrows game too.

I've been told Evan's injury is due to him getting studded down the leg in the tackle which got him sent off at Taunton and is struggling to over come the injury. Although I guess it could be something else.

For the Windsor game Fenton wasn't available due to a 'family thingy'. According to the write up by Sweets he should be available after injury. Just when we are in desperate need for everyone who's fit to be available the rumour is he could be on holiday.

What the hell is going on with Fenton?

What do you mean what's going on with Fenton? He's missed one game.

Fitness is a problem at the moment. Chopper and Fermie nowhere near match fit. Plus I hope we don't plan on playing Chopper left wing. He does a job there as he did for a bit under Denton, but much more effective as a central midfielder imo.

But due to miss tomorrow due to being on Holiday?

Put your side into context, Slough's new era???

Evans, couldn't get in an Uxbridge side under Choules (a side that beat you in the week)also struggled at Northwood. Fenton, couldn't get in a poor Hillingdon Borough side and was part of a side that leaked more goals than any other side last season (AFC Hayes), now a slough legend? And Fermie, part of that same Hayes side and has done nothing in his career. Was an ex-keeper who is now a 1st team regular??? Up the Slough!!!

Stupid posting the above. Can easily turn that round by saying

Slough's new era???

- Ryan Fenton (got to the FA Vase Final with Hillingdon) and subject of a 7-day approach this season with his form

- Luke Evans won the title last season with Farnborough

- Byron Bubb - won the title last season with Farnborough

- Yash Romeo - Helped Oxford City to promotion last season

- Danny Jordan - Last seasons 2nd top scorer in the division

- Glen Harris - Helped Hampton reach the Confrence South play off final last year

On paper it's not bad. That's why so many are disappointed and frustrated at the moment. Including the management I bet. We should be doing better

The important thing is i think that even good players take time to gel as a team, windsor for example have had the same team near enough for a couple of seasons.

it all requires patience i think, which in this age of instant gratification doesnt exist.

cant believe people are questioning the quality of our squad compared to the last 2 seasons of dross. yes we have had some dodgy results but with time we can get better as a team. remember all but about 3 players in our squad are new. as said a settled team which is mostly kept together for long periods of time is bound to be more successful in the long run compared to a new squad of players
