Turnaround time

With yesterdays result in the bag, now is the time that the management and team can really turn this season around. Saturday sees the first, of possibly, 4 Home ties in the next 4 weeks. A win yesterday and a cup win next week will set us up for a Home tie with struggling Wealdstone. Not wanting to tempt fate but if the results go our way we then face a great Kent derby with Maidstone who are in a play off position. If we can get a decent result in these matches I,m sure we can start to pull the supporters back throught the turnstiles, and if we were to get through to Rd 2 of the trophy and get the home draw, it could be a very exciting and long awaited buzz for the supporters.

Dont under estimate Wealdstone. The mighty Urchins played them last week and won 1-0 but it was a battle.

You certainly seem to be right CE. I've said before, and I'll say it again, I truly think it's because of the negativity of so many 'fans' at home games. If the team aren't 3-0 up after 10 minutes, they get on the players' backs. If I was a player, I'd be nervous to ever try anything out of the ordinary or, heaven forbid, give the ball away, for fear of the moaners getting on my back!

All these negative fans must be standing near you DM, I stand down the sides or at the back of the HartsdownEnd and ocasionally sit inthe stand and most folk seem to be satified with what they are seeing lately. The games have been enjoyable and entertaining its just the result that's been disappointing. I expect a goal feast some day soon. So heads up and Up the Gate.

I agree, although their are a few, but its always the same old same old. However, I do think we need a centre forward before the goal glut happens.

Yes it does matter Steve.

I agree the majority of supporters are what the name suggests supportive. A few(some who should no better) though are very vocal with their criticism. If you have a team of older players they can handle it. Unfortunately the youngsters take it on board and find it difficult to deal with. Having spoken to some of them I know the negative effect it as.

Whilst i admit to airing my views on here-positive and negative;i would not dream of being verbally critical during a match-maybe mutter to someone close by-but nothing more than that.

Given that, i believe that spectators do have a right to criticise openly if they wish. Not something i would encourage personally ,but others are entitled to display their frustrations more openly imo.

Where is the difference to many of us being criticised in our own workplaces ?

I also wonder whether those players who are according to BB are mentally affected by it-have the right mentality and strength of character to play at this level in the first place.

Its all 'part of the job'/goes with the territory-if they are not prepared to take criticism-be it fair or unfair-i question whether they should be playing at this level in the first place.

Its not a league for physical or mental wimps-whatever their age.

So does that include within the first 5 minutes of a game when the score is still 0 - 0 and the moaning starts when the players have actually done nothing wrong??

I dont think so

A lot of the complaining is unjustified and from the same group of supporters who have been watching Margate long enough.

Not something i like either-but us human beings are 'funny creatures'and everyone behaves differently and have different characters.

As long as people are not doing anything illegal-who am i to judge what is right or wrong behaviour ?

Hopefully, the majority will pull the others along in a more positive frame of mind

As I said earlier in the thread is pleasing to see most do show their support now, as for giving praise why not when it is deserved, as it was throughout the team on Saturday, including the subs who came on.

No surprise to see you disagreeing with me 'seasidesteve', I can't remember the last time I heard something positive come from your direction. Go on, prove me wrong please!

As for the others who seem to be completely unaware of the criticism: wait till 3.05 on Saturday, when one of our players gives the ball away in a promising position, and the chorus of groans that greet him.
