booing our own players...

Given the large sums of money earned by players in the modern game, most supporters no longer feel a connection to them.

It grates with supporters when players make comments like Jamie Carragher's that losing with Liverpool would hurt more than with England.

The supporters want to see the players play like they care about the result. It matters to Beckham, Rooney and John Terry and that's what the supporters want to see.

In fairness to Ashley Cole, having made that horrible mistake, he then knuckled down and concentrated on his game making sure he didn't make another mistake but the entire back four were very slack at times on Saturday.

Can't see what all the fuss is about.

(With my Man U hat on for a little while.)

It's happened to Man U players at Wembley for years.

Didn't see anyone get on a soapbox then.

Having said that, i'm against cheering for Argentina as well (Tossers)

I've taken that heavy hat of now.

I've don't approve of booing anyone during a game, even the oposition.

Never done any good, whoever i've been watching.

But you pay your money and you can do what you like afterwards.

If i dissapprove of my teams performance i just walk out without clapping them off.

I find silence and an empty terrace is a much better weapon.

I certainly wasn't booing Cole, he's one of the best left backs in the world in my opinion but as a person I think he's a c0ck, he just made a silly mistake that unfortunately cost us a goal and booing him for it does not do any good.

However, fans at any match pay their money and are entitled to their opinion. There's enough PC lunacy about, especially at football, without people not being entitled to vent their opinion.

If these fans reason's for booing him are because they don't like him because of how he treated his wife or because of what happened at Arsenal why hasn't he been booed before ?

I think the problem is that 99.9% of the fans in that stadium just cannot relate to people like Ashley Cole. He is everything that I don't like about the Premiership roled into one, and the backpass was just excuse that the fans needed to let their feelings known.

Convenient injury for the Belarus match I see!
