On the subject on landmarks, what are people's views of this.

 

 

I've heard a lot of people don't like this... but Gravesend needs brightening up, plus a landmark like this will make Gravesend stand out from a long distance, and not amongst the industry. I'm all for this to happen.

Ugly??? Look's beautiful, Hannah... compared to Gravesend as a whole anyway.

It does in a way remind me of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

I know the Gravesend Heritage Quarter is due to get underway in the Spring. The west end due for completion in 2011 and the east end in 2013.

The tower... anyone know whereabouts it's going to go? Is it where the top of the promenade is?

I think the tower in Gravesend will look wonderful once the locals add a bit of graffiti to it.

The church in the middle looks like St. Andrews to me (it's now an arts centre), so that would make it by Bawley Bay in Crooked Lane (bottom of Queen Street).
