feel the width...grin

there is a point in time in all football seasons where one fixture takes on significant importance and from my perspective this was that game tonight....after a few poor (by our standards) league performances we really did need the three points from this game in hand and in an edgy game tonight at a misty.. wet.. autumn bridge avenue the urchins found the character to grind out a result and move a couple of places up the league table......make no mistake..... this was a gutsy performance from our jittery boys tonight and fully deserved for heart and spirit alone...

it wasn't a pretty affair to be honest as boths sides were anxious from the start and both sides needed the win but the chance when it came fell to a red and white shirt and via a deflection..the winner went into the stones net from a dean green strike..

marginally a deserved three points but on nights like these I care little about just desserts....we needed a win before saturdays fandango and the boys ground it out for us.....commiserations to the stones young players who played for 90 minutes and also nice to see some old friends back at the bridge...I trust that they all had a safe journey home...

so onwards to saturdays biggie with a bit of a spring back in the step and well done the fans who got behind the team and as always well done to colin and the boyseys....we may have a whinge from time to time but when the chips are down we know that they will dig deep for us and tonight they did...

my first home league win so i'm happy.to be honest we won ugly but ya need a bit of luck from time to time and tonite we called that favour in,very nervy last 10 minutes specially when the board went up for 4 extra minutes but only seem to play 30 seconds alas 3 points on the board and now feel a bit more relaxed this saturday

This putting the board up and so every one know's how much injury time there is to be played, just is not working. They either forget to do it in both halfs, do it for one half only or as happened last night, do it as an after thought.

the lino that came over to the riverside in the second half is a bit of a smart ar5e and jamie asked him 10 times about the announcement at 90 mins and how long we had to play....he arrogantly told us that he had it all in hand then ignored it it even tho our bench were telling him...the ref actually got it right but they are forgetting to do it...

thought that ref was poor again last night...

I agree with Unc, that this result may be the one where we turn the corner. We had to work hard against a team who were very quick to get forward.

I have felt in recent games that we have left our forwards isolated up front with no one getting forward quickly enough to support them.

There were occasions yesterday where Mark Janney and Tommo joined the front two and put a lot of pressure on Wealdstone and during those periods we looked very good.

It's the romance of the Cup on Saturday and then another potentially tough encounter with Tonbridge on Tuesday. Bring it on!

late arrival, so I missed the first half.

result was what was needed. we were sitting next to either a reporter or a scout and it was interesting to hear his perspective on the phone. "Direct long ball, never utilised Janners and Wealdstone were unlucky as they hit the post four times".

How on earth the ref never booked the number 2, for the foul on simon in the 90th minute is a total mystery. i thought the respect campaign is supposed to stamp all of these fouls and language out.

Roll on Saturday
