Some money would be nice though too haha!!

Have to say that the 7-2 win for Woods v Hammers in Suburban League tonight surprised me Jurg!

Calm down Michael, there's no need to bust a blood vessell. I did read it properly and it's very noble of you to say they deserved the win, but the majority of post(s) are you and others moaning about refs. If they are all so bad why don't you report them to the league?

Sandhurst 3 Feltham 1 Southern Comb Cup.....

Went to Sandhurst missing a couple of key players but played well and at 1-1 were by far the better team playing football (none of that smash the ball into channels and run after it cr@p).

Had a player sent off for kicking out after being headbutted (both should have walked) and then got caught with two goals in the last 8 minutes.

Thought Sandhurst had a couple of good players (old Man Mulvaney lol looked good when he came on) but if that's there full team they'll be looking over their shoulders come May. Better teams at top of CCL 1.

to be honest tt i keep saying to the club that they have got to write reports about the refs whether they are good or bad after all me personally if i did something really good at work id like to know its appreciated on the other hand if i was crap id still like to know so that i could improve, so thats my point if you cant talk to refs how can you give your opinions about them. i believe that after every game every club should have to write a report about the refs instead of just marking them on the sheets. many clubs as you are probably aware mark the refs over 5 or over just so that they dont have to write reports, thats not right.

Believe me i have said to my club that we have got to start writing letters.

Tell me about it CC.

Spoke to my mate who was playing CB and said they were 2 up and cruising after 20-25 min then it all went t*ts up (said he was at fault for your first and had a shocker for the remainder)!!

Fair play to your lot though, the chances still have to be taken no matter how many you are given!

My post wasn't to slag Bedfont off mick, it was just how i saw it. Like i said to you and Jeff after the cup game the other week i thought you were a very good team and thoroughly deserved the victory.

I agree the ref should have spoken to his linesman on that decision but he didn't actually show your player a yellow for the tackle, it was because he mouthed off to him after he gave the free kick against him. Then continued whilst walking away resulting in a straight red rather than 2nd yellow!

Fair enough on the penalty decision, i was quite far away but it didn't seem that he gave your player a 2nd yellow for the tackle, seemed it was for shouting at him after. Just put it as a bad day at the office mate. I actually think the refs performances are better this season, maybe because i'm not totally involved and i look at things from a neutral perspective i don't know.

Anyway, hope to catch up later in the season mate

Mick, I hear what you're saying, refs need to be appraised just like we all are/should be in the workplace. So can't all the CCL clubs get together and propose that each club writes a report on the refs performance after each game? Like everyone, refs will learn from their mistakes, and a report on their performance will highlight what they've done well and what they have'nt done well.

Very few Clubs would have personnel objective enough to give a report based on a fair reflection of the full game. Many would be swayed by the Managers rants - which in turn are based on one or 2 decisions that go against the team (in all likelihood it will be the manager that would end up writing such a report or telling the Secretary what to write!)

Given that there aren't enough independent assessors to monitor every game, could Clubs be made to supply a qualified official to assess & report on the Refs performance at each match?

Its a subject we all like to discuss, but as el gaff has said if you are a bit removed from the match you see things a bit more like the ref does.

Absolutely spot on and couldn't agree more

Agree Mick.

I assume that there are a lot of ground hoppers at this level of football, how about getting THEM to write match reports? Hopefully they'd give a fair, balanced view of the game and the refs. Just a thought.

Anyway, why don't ground hoppers post their match reports anyway? That way we could compare them against the clubs match reports. Could be interesting!!

agree about the assessor bit. Some assessors tend to be robots. They like to come into the dressing room to hear the pre match instructions that the referee gives to his assistants.

I remember doing the line on an old chiltonian league game and we got tipped off that the assessor was coming. The referee quickly gave his instructions so that the assessor could not hear them and then the referee said, sorry guys, our job has become difficult today.
