I don't think Bowers were unlucky to lose, from my info, they were well played off the park, the Side keeper needed to make no saves. If the defender missed the OG then side had a player behind to net (burger munch moment I guess). TC apparently even was gracious enough to say that Side deserved it (fair play that Coachie, learn it!). Don't understand the family life bit, Stanley Unwin moment? Unless the forum, burgers and going to football matches is your life. Saddo.

Yes Coachie did call it right at half time and I can confirm he never went near the burger bar all night.

 

As for the game, a fairly dull and uneventful first half though B'side did indeed play the better football.

 

The second half was a little better and looked like whoever scored first would go on and win it, and so it proved. It was a shame for young Ben Connolly to score the OG, as the amount of mistakes the lad makes over a season could be counted on one hand. That said, he never let his head drop and he didn't hide for the rest of the game, much to his credit. Chris Lewis' goal killed the game and Bowers never really looked like turning it round, though I did think Tony Russ made a difference when he came on.

 

For the record, both Kaiser and Loyal Observer turned in solid, if unspectacular, performances.

 

Well done to B'side and good luck in the next round.

 

PS. I hope it wasn't Denno's last game but if it was I'm glad I was there to see it.
