Frimley Green 2-1 Redhill

Recommended Posts

Still a long way to go SL and TC and I'm sure things will come roght in the league games soon enough. Redhill are doing a very good job on sucking eggs sick and not accepting they lost to the better more organised team on the day who took there chances and thwarted the visitors. Get that into your league games and get the players wanting it week in week out and you'll be there.

Keeper found out on the following Tuesday he'd been playing with a broken hand since the Bookham (1st Game). Just to compound his luck he played on the pitch against Feltham on Saturday and twisted his knee in th 89th minute - out for 4 weeks now frown

its hard for older supporters to accept chipstead merstham and whyteleafe have overtaken redhill, like dorking with bookham and at the moment even Mole Valley SCR!

not good for the chairman to call them village clubs and state redhill are the senior side in the borough when they are below them in the pyramid and thinking of selling their ground

i know you hang on my every word krooner, so im sure you read the article when l linked to it above.

the borough he refers to is reigate and banstead council so perhaps he also includes Banstead and maybe epsom?

the relevant quotes were:

Wheeler believes Redhill deserve investment as they have more potential to be successful than other local clubs, despite playing in a lower division than Chipstead, Whyteleafe and Merstham.

He said: "It's hard for a lot of other clubs to take but this is the senior club in the borough.

"The other clubs can do what they like and have some success but they know they will always be village clubs.

"It's all about the size of the town. Take Crawley Town, they are the senior club of Crawley and they are surrounded by Oakwood, Three Bridges and Crawley Down which are almost like feeder clubs."

e&e may play at banstead's ground but i assume they are still considered to be from their own borough! but certainly wheeler must be including banstead and indeed horley.

do we assume the east surrey hospital cup will now be quite erm, competitive?

and on the e+e front, whilst the combined counties may be happy with the groundshare how long would Ryman allow it to go on, seeing as epsom have one hand on the title already, whilst keeping a foot in their own borough and an eye on the chasing pack?
