A minor point - isn't Stanmore in North London? ATFC play in STANWELL, which is signposted from J14 of the M25, while the ground is signposted from the A30, as long as you aproach from J13. Also, they're not gasworks, they're an Esso Aviation Fuel Plant...

 

No comments about the game as I was watching Ashford reserves at Amersham. What I would say though is that I was impressed to see a couple of Urchins still in the bar when I got back, and best of luck for the rest of the season (especially next week in the FA Cup).

Ah, but it's only a partial correction, Dagger, as there's at least one "Stanmore" left unedited at the time of writing, as well as the lack of signage rumour remaining.

 

Good report, though. Your writing is in an evocative style, in which it is easy to get lost. God, that sounds pretentious, doesn't it? No matter - I think I've got the point across.

 

As for jumbos filling up... they don't have to - that's what fuel tankers are for. The only jumbos fuelling at Short Lane are the likes of me when the Bombadier's on!
