With Tommy the Toad failing to make a debut at Moatside on Saturday we thought it only polite that Merstham should entice him out of the Thamesmead marshes before sending him back to where he belongs and marching forward to Hornchurch in the next round. Wishful thinking or what? Well wishful thinking, yes maybe by some of the Merstham support, but the faithful know that the Moatsiders have a real chance of progressing if they play the style of football we know they are capable of. With six goals to his name this season Kevin Lock has set himself up as a target for opposition defences but his prolific goal scoring strike partner of last season, Kwabena Agyei, has yet to set his mark and this could be the opportunity he needs to prove he still has the old magic. - Johnny Moatside
