Rules and regulations
TO PLAY IN AN OPEN AGE COMPETITION A PLAYER MUST HAVE ACHIEVED THE AGE OF 16. flame

Isn't it the same rule for each? As long as the player is with an academy he can play in open age competition.

Ask for a couple on loan wink

According what we have been told last year, they can't play in the ESL or non-league teams. So it's clear there is a rule for "THEM" and one for "US".....

They can't if they are not academy players. If they are with an academy they can play for non league mixed age teams.

I don't want to be funny Bitch, but it makes a mockery of the all thing. If it is done to preserve the youngsters, that are still developping phisycally, from playing vs physically stronger and mature players then it should apply to every under 16 years old player, irrespective if he is with an Academy or with Stevenage Borough. It's just double standards.

It's a bit of a hobsons choice anyway Coachie. Not many academies would give permission.

Physically kids develop diffently. Some can be man size at 15 and others still look like 12 year olds. As the fella says in your article. If they are good enough they should be able to play. There's not so much contact at the higher level of the game. They'd get smashed to smitherines against the dog & duck grin

"There's not so much contact at the higher level of the game. "

You are joking, ain't you? For some of those tackles shown on telly some pro players should be sent to prison for GBH!!The all think stinks and shows once more that the big clubs always get it their own way.How wonder what could happen if one day the majority will decide to split from the minority?Because Bitch,WE ARE THE MAJORITY ain't we?
