HENDON FOOTBALL CLUB

The Board of the Ryman League has been working with Hendon Football Club Limited and representatives of the Hendon FC Supporters Trust over the last two months to enable a continuation of the Club.

The Board was disappointed this week to receive a letter from a Director of the Company closing the ground with immediate effect and explaining the reasons behind the decision.

The Company wishes to transfer its membership of the League to the Supporters Trust but the League is not able to deal with that until the Company has satisfied The Football Association and the League itself in relation to the transfer of membership. The Board wishes to enable the Club to continue to play football while negotiations are ongoing; to that end the Board will allow Hendon FC Limited to play its home matches on suitable alternative grounds until the end of the current season.

The League requires the Company to deposit with the League within 7 days a sum of

They looked pretty useful for 70 mins when we played them at HDP recently-mind you-it looks as though after 2 years of trying, we may finally be learning how to defend ,and not concede to unchallenged headers.

Just a small matter of an FA Trophy game against them coming up soon.

The football authorities don't exactly do much to help.

Hendon are in financial trouble and the league say "We are going to charge you with not keeping your ground in good order".They didn't do this on purpose. Most non league and indeed many league clubs struggle to survive. The last thing they want is to face charges and if they are forced into administration because they cannot find a multi millionaire benefactor they certainly will not be helped by heaping more misery on them with a points deduction which will probably gaurantee relegation.

The Football Association who are supposed to run football in this country should be regulating the game in a more controlled way. They could start by taking the billions of T.V. money and distributing it more fairly throughout the game. This would help teams like Hendon and Margate to survive.

If anyone disagrees with this you cannot tell me it is right for a prem footballer to earn in a week what takes us 5 years of hard work to earn. Why do you think I dont watch prem football any more.I SUPPORT NON LEAGUE.

Great post ac/dc. The non league administrators will not have any clubs in their leagues if they don't leave the ivory towers and join the real world. I don't see any help ever from the football heiracy, no one likes to share the trough. If a business made that pompous Ryman announcement they would be a laughing stock in the community, I suggest they get a certain ex-jewellery retailer to help them or perhaps they already have.

Minor correction. Hendon (the football club) are not in financial trouble. The supporters trust have been paying the football bills since the start of the season. Once the trust have taken over ownership of the club there will be no danger of the club having financial problems. We may not have a lot of money, but we'll be living within our means.

As for the

it seems the supporters trust is managing the club well-well done hendon.

before everyone gets carried away with a supporters trust though--its easier to start afresh and think -i would'nt make that mistake .

A supporters trust also needs serious personal investment.

What the FA should do is scrap the winnings for the top 4 finishers in the prem , you`ve got to admit they don`t need it as they will make millions from tv rights and Champions league football as it is . I don`t know exactly how much the top 4 would get in prize money if it were added together but it will run into millions im sure . The grass roots football of this country is so important this is why it could be shared accordingly based on the situation of a club that needed an injection of cash in the pyramid systerm then you would hear nothing of clubs going under but thriving and growing making football throughout much much better to watch and in itself making the whole game better from top to bottom .

And a great quote from acdc I SUPPORT NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL , and i do its the best . Up the Gate .

Totally agree.

How do you get these people who are either watching league football on telly , or going to the likes of Charlton to HDP.

One or two no league clubs have experimented with FREE ADMISSION to a game.

Is that worth a go ?

Maybe in the cold days of November when crowds are below 350 its worth a go.

The loss in gate revenue is probably about

Although i agree with your thinking MM you maybe thinking in a business frame rather than Non league football, unfortunately with the fickle groundhoppers/part time supporters results/performance matters and we continually fail to impress when we have a large crowd (derby games etc). Its a sad fact but I think all will agree that when the board consider these ideas they fall short of filling the cofers needed to continue trading as MFC.
