My ONLY gripe over Merstham (ground/club) was a Sunday afternoon last season when our Under 18's girls were playing there.

 

Some grumpy old s0d who had obviously come down for the cheap beer in their lovely club-house came to watch some of the game and started wittering on about how girls shouldn't be allowed to play football/couldn't play footbal, and were a disgrace to the game. The 'feck' word was well in abundance with many youngsters on the touchline near the changing-rooms.

 

And this from a club member of an otherwise lovely club.

 

My number one son-in-law' pointed out the errors of his drunken rambling, stressing the point, in a round about manner that hospital food at the New East Surrey Hospital was NOT in the Egon Ronay Good-Food guide !
