On the brink of 'history'. Clean Sheets

In a way we owe some part of the youth set up to Trotty , if it had not started last season then these lads coming through would be no where near a starting place in the 1st team . I was impressed with Kenny Pratt last night he won`t stop all night , if he has not got the ball at his feet then he is putting pressure on the opposition ,there was the odd error but thats just down to inexperience but he`s learning quickly which is what we want . With the goalkeeper situation would be nice to keep Lee Butcher for the whole season and in my personal view have Pat as his No2 , SCS a good keeper but he seems to be lacking on the ambition stakes for some reason . If we could not keep Lee then Pat No1 with SCS No2 . Up the Gate .

I always thought trott was never quite given the correct credit for some of the things he achieved, but thats a whole other story I suppose. I agree regarding butcher whole-heartedly. It would be fantastic to see him for the season. SCS has given good service, and some parts of his game are excellent albeit inconsistent, but it seems that Butcher is a developing player of a really good all round standard....

Of course, I will disown these comments when he lets one slip underneath him next week!!

i agree. his actual defending was dire last season, but his management wasnt too bad considering that he was a rookie. we werent too far off the play offs with him at the helm, and he brought in some awesome players... i think he was let down by the board, as were the rest of us...

Last year doh That's another mystery solved, scooby.

My memory certainly is probably worse than I can ever remember it possibly being before.

Before what, I'm not sure. I can't go back that far without flash cards.

Lee Butcher is an excellent young English keeper,it's just a shame that he will never play in the premiership.Lets face it why did Arsenal let him go because with their French manager they think they are a French team and apart from a couple of superstars they are not interested in nurturing British talent.90% of prem keepers are foreign and if you scour the world for players then English lads will struggle even if they have potential. The other problem is that the goverment have brainwashed people into thinking it's politically incorrect or racial to question these motives.Unfortunately the end result will be that England will never again have a world class national team.

Couldn't agree more with all your comments here ACDC.

In particular Lee Butcher has made a major contribution to our last 2 'clean sheets',especially his performance at Ashford.

I'm sure the great performance by the defence in these two games is a reflection of their own improvement, quality signing ( Kerrigan) and confidence in Butcher's professionalism.

Long may it continue.
