Coppell happy to replay Watford

After the goal that wasn't Steve Coppell would be happy to replay the game after the mistake by the linesman giving a goal when the ball never cross the line or was anywhere near it

 

Maybe we should ask to start the season again

 

 

 

What made me laugh was the comment from Graham Poll

 

"Former Premier League referee Graham Poll said the decision was inexplicable and had sympathy for the Watford players and manager.

 

Poll told BBC Radio 5 Live: "This is the most bizarre situation I've ever seen in 40 years watching football and 27 years refereeing."

 

Yeah right Poll like you never made any mistakes in your matches

they cant set a precedent here, plenty of goals have been given b4 that shouldnt have been ie not over the line , off side etc. are they gona replay all games where an error is made-- i dont think so

Remember the greatest non goal of all time scored by Geoff Hurst. They did not replay that match either.

I agree ... but this must surely be the proof that, for disputed goals/dismissals, the 4th official should be able to refer to a video replay. All Premiership/Barclays League games are televised, so use that technology. If the appeals were on the similar lines as tennis appeals (say you can have two appeals per side per match).

It'd be silly to say that it delays the game as the 'incident' at Watford meant the Ref consulted the Lino, awarded a goal and then had to deal with protests all of which would be shorter than a 4th official consulting a replay.
