I know its not ESL but nobody reads many of the other forums and it is sort of related to something Coachie has been going on about.

Are Reading out of order????????????

If the ball may or may not have crossed the line..... or if the ball goes through a hole in the net or enters the net through a hole then perhaps the team that has gained the advantage keeps silent.

However when the ball does not even come into contact with the boundaries of the goal by what I understand was a significant distance yet a lino says goal and a ref believes him...... should not Reading have at least allowed Watford to go straight up the other end and score????????

I have seen the "goal" in question and it impossible to say exactly what happened as the camera was on the halfway line. The only thing i can think of was that there more spin on that ball than Shane Warne could produce. It spun in over the line and then back out into play. The lino seemed very sure it was a goal and i have to assume that the officials are of a higher standard than what we have to put up with at non league level.

Goal-line technology certainly isn't NEEDED.

Why we inist on constantly peppering the rulebook with uneccessary new ideas and ego trips to allegedly 'enhance' the game is beyond me.

Football is a mistakes game, without them we would see a hell of a lot of 0-0's! One of the most intriguing things about football is when mistakes are made, it happens. Move on, keep it a simple sport for everyone.

I see where you are coming from mate, but the world is changing.

People get frustrated when mistakes happen, and the only way to counter this, is by bringing this sort of technology in.

In Super League, does anyone moan when the Video Referee gives the try and after reviewing the incident?
Does the Third Umpire get any abuse after making an important decision regarding a stumping or a catch?

It would solve a lot of issues with regards to the game, and its being tested in Scandanavia to great success.

Modern technology is growing at a phenomenal pace, and whilst this is available, we should take advantage of it.

We need to move forward or football will become too old school and get left behind, with many many frustrated players and fans.
