Sounds like it Michael, must admit I didn't realise that.

Depends on the weather I guess to how many come, showers are forecast. I think be more like 450.

I reckon Kieran should be included, right midfield is his preferred postion anyway, and although stubbs works extremely hard and is physically strong (whick i think is very important at this level., there isn't always an end product,.. it'll be interesting to see those two battle it out for the shirt now.. which in turn, is good for everyone.. keeps them on thier toes etc.

Gotta say I don't think Gregs has done a lot wrong this season. Decent in the air, and has an eye for a pass. I think he deserves his chance in the position he occupied on Saturday. Although I couldn't make it, it sounds like our midfield had the better of them so why change it. I would like to see Maskell fit in somewhere though.. Fanet Blu any opinions?

I have to disagree with you there Fanet Blu. Have you not seen the shot on Stubbs. He's got a good un' & he often gives it a go whenever he gets the opportunity.I think he's doing very well for us in midfield..very very well.
On the other hand Morris, though not lacking effort does have a problem with an end product. He's not been on song all season from what I've seen so far (to be fair to him I haven't seen him in all games).
Gregory I watched at training the other night & he showed some good skills on the ball running at defenders.Took them on & rounded a few quite often.I guess BA must have seen some of this & thus put him midfield.I think this could well be the inspired move that BA has made moreso than any other.Maskell was also impressive in training.
Of course bringing Peters back is a plus too.Sounds like Kerrigan is a decent player & with the addition of Power up front with no Peters around him, this will improve his game further I feel (though unlike most I feel he hasn't deserved the amount criticism he has had from some up till now)
We seem to have a lot more plusses going for us now & BA must take some credit,in fact a great deal of credit for this.
What we need now is to continue this improvement on Tuesday night. We must start off from where we left off on Saturday & in fact improve on it as we all know how hard it is to beat the Angels. Last season we outplayed them at home yet still managed to lose the game. We can't allow that to happen again but I think the side as it is now will be well up for it& more than capable if they perform as they seem to have done on Saturday. I sincerely hope so anyway.
Its gonna be a real good game tomorrow night I'm sure of it & anyone who is thinking of staying home would be advised to come along to see it. Hopefully we'll be victorious again. Fingers crossed anyway.

I really like Stubbs, a non stop worker and chaser of the ball IMO. Just hope he doesn't burn himself out!

Agree TonY I have a feeling will be a cracker of a game.

Gregory in midfield for me.

I seem to recall reading that he could always play in left midfield or at left back.Saw him in midfield in one of the psf's and did well, so left midfield for me-with Kerrigan at left back.(also gives extra defensive cover).

Big question is does Peters go right midfield with Corbs at right back, or Peters at right back, which assuming that Stubbs and Wilson are MUST PLAYS ,then the latter option does not leave room for Paul Smith-and it is obviously no coincidence that when smith plays we do better.

Thus for me-a midfiled of Stubbs,Wilson and Gregory with P. Smith just behind them-and when he tires-subbed by Maskell.

Peters at right back

Peters looked more effective on Saturday at right back than in previous games up front. Ditto Gregory on left midfield who gave the defence problems and worked well with Power. Pratt also worked hard without reward.

Parkinson and Young teamed up very well in central defence. Better than Smith/Young IMO, although of course Parkinson is a loan player.

Stubbs hasn't set any games alight, but he certainly chases everything and seems to have a positive attitude.

It didn't come off for Wilson on Sat, but we have seen what a shot he has when he gets hold of it, and how good he is with set pieces. Paul Smith gives the lads confidence and seems to fill the midfield with his presence.

The new goalie is great, especially for a 19-year-old. You can see why he is on a pro contract. Hope we keep him until Mullins is fit.

New boy Kerrigan, which this thread started off about, well I can't praise him highly enough on Saturday's showing.

So there you are, from one who watched the game on Saturday I have to say I don't think any of those lads deserve to be dropped, even if others return to fitness.

Corbishley is left-sided isn't he? So (if fit) I wouldn't mind seeing him on the bench in case a left-sided player is injured. I would probably have Hickman or Morris replace Smudger when he runs out of steam, and Quain (if fit) can't be ignored. No doubt somebody will remind me of other names pushing for a place.

But that still leaves us a forward short. If we could get a goal-hanger in the mould of Hockton on board all the better, and I would drop Pratt to the bench (with no disrespect to the lad).

So stick with the same line-up BA please!

Oh, and a final word about Power. He appears lazy, but he is bloody effective. His layoffs were accurate and he scored a good goal on Saturday. So I would request the boo-boys to get off his back and give him a chance.

Only problem Chris is that parkinson has got himself suspended for the next two games.

Interesting that if i read your post correectly, like me, you seem to think that the Young/L.Smith partnership does not work well-but they both do well when not paired together.

Lets trust BA can get them working well together.

If nothing else-are'nt Smith and Young our joint top goalscorers !!

I agree that the others are arguably a bit ahead of him;and that Morris does nothing spectacular.

Equally, he does not make many mistakes or misplaced passes -equally important attributes.and his positioning is good.

Simply by positioning you can have a positive effect and influence-you can go all game without touching the ball, but still have a good game by being in the right place to stifle the opposition and thats where Morris does ok.

A bit like Paull Abbott-never spectacular, but was always there on the right flank to receive a pass.Compare that with others who never seem to be in space to receive a pass.(remember Aaron Robinson whose positioning was awful-always caught between two players)

Having said that,i agree that others are marginally ahead of Morris, but don't understimate his contribution too much.

Agree Michael, another who puts his heart and soul into every game, may not be the most gifted but does exactly what Barry asks him to do. A valuable member of our strenghtning squad IMO.
