I can't help but empathise with Coach with regard to the travelling in the qualifying rounds. I have always thought that the word qualify should lean towards local games within ones county or border counties and regional ( ie Northampton ) in Round One and Two then semi- National after Round three and National at Round four where provision is made for compensation for long distance coaches. There is an alternative and that is to split the prizewinning money 50-50 , then the loser gets something towards their coach fares and the winner goes on to make more money. The financial side of the game is absolutely paramount to clubs keeping their head above water , the present structure of the National Cups needs a bit of tweeking despite the enjoyment I know that travelling away brings to supporters. Something to chew on when you go to bed tonight , not that I have any sway in doing anything about it !

I agree with all of that Coachie, but what's that got to do with traveling to the Home Counties in the FA Vase. It's not the first time a Hullbridge side has had to travel to Northampton Spencer.

Thanks for the clarification LC.What i said was that for the first 3 rounds it should be regionalized. We went to the Midlands 3 times in 4 weeks(and a midweek game at Harwich!),it's really a long round trip, good for supporters and kit men but not for players.

coachie no wonder your team kicks off and get players sent off, as a manager your attitude f#cking stinks mate, people work really hard at this level both on the pitch and off and yes you would have to say this league is a semi pro league, players get paid at some of the teams so yea id call that semi pro mate, your an embaracement to the essex senior league, go and cook some pasta you pr#ck

I dont feel as strongly, as Big Mac, but you are having a laugh, if u choose to run your club as an amatuer club, and consider yourselves as amatuer, then thats your business, but i and most others at this level or above are semi pro,

btw, this is England and we really dont care, how your system works in italy, of course their amatuers have you watched a serie A game recently, what shi t

Do you remember the Vase at St Ives? (attempt two!) Of course not! Haha, classic trips.

I personally love going to grounds I've not been to, against sides I've not had games with and on a coach, all quality stuff. The longer the trip the better IMO.

Ha Ha mate i don't remember the coach to either St Ives games except for Danny Benstock going missing when we got back to rush green

I have to agree with T.A.F.K.A.M 9, even if players aren't being paid it's still a semi-pro standard. If you call yourselves an Amateur Club & get that amateur mentality into your players mindset, be prepared for amateur results !!!

Tafkam, don't kid yourself, you'll call yourself a semi-pro when you go and play for a top Conference side that has full time status and train 3 times a week(thing that i doubt you will..couldn't turn up for a training session at Eton Manor!!)And about Italy talk about them when your Jamaican country has won 4 world Cups **** understood reggae boy?And that apply to the England team managed by an Italian as well evil

Still an amateur and players don't get paid, only travel expenses.Cooky, only an example of an undisciplined side and bad refereeing as you was saying not long time ago.

Morning coachie I assume you mean me,not many people call me Cooky but your more than welcome.I personaly dont have much of a problem with players being sent off under correct circumstances,Im not sure if its just your English grammer or are you saying that your team are an undisciplined side? Also some of the players in the ESL must be coming a long way if they are only getting Exs
