Margate sign Spurs keeper on loan

Strange signing to me.

Surely its on field positions where we are weakest.

How will a young lad, help install confidence and experience to the remainder of the team; when we have an adequate goalkeeper in SCS.

Seems to me, we are doing Tottenham more of a favour here than ourselves.

Good luck to the lad, and i wish him well-but even assuming he is a blindingly good keeper-how will that help us-other than leeting in fewer goals-will it help the defensive lapses, or create more from midfield.?

maybe SCS is not having a good time, but i would have thought this position was about 5th on the priority list.

odd one to me,but lets hope BA has got it right;and good luck today

Thanks Geebee

Understand now.

I wonder how mullins is progressing-on the original timescale-he should be fit at end of september aswell.

Pity about SCS injury-as it probably ties up some loan wages on a position that maybe was not originally a priority, and means fewer/no funds available to get a vital couple of experienced outfield players in.

Feature article and photos on Lee Butcher in todays NLP (along with david Button who is at grays)

Of course-the kiss of death as article penned before conceding yesterday

Lee is quoted as saying:

'' two clean sheets is a pretty good startand its been a great experience here. I signed on the friday and played on the saturdayso it was very sharp-i did'nt have time to train or anything. You do get a little bit nervous because you're going into a club where you don't know anyone at all but i've really enjoyed it here''

His goalkeeping coach Perry SUckling adds:'' I went to Margate and sat next to Neville Souhall. He speaks very highly of Lee and feels that he's got a grat chance of making it at a decent level.''

More stuff in the article itself.

Hope we can secure the services of Butcher for a little while longer, although the way Spurs are playing he might be in the first team next week! Think he has made a very impressive start and, despite conceding three on Saturday, I thought he had a very good game. He has the attributes that we have been lacking in a keeper of late: not afraid to come for the ball and good distribution, along with, of course, generally good shot-stopping and handling.
