AFC Hornchurch v Billericay

This was my first visit to this ground and what a nice place it is, Not as hostile as another athletic ground not a to far from here.

One of the locals and i looked at the team sheet prior to the game and he said to watch out for the ref he is known to pick one team and give them a bigger cut on the day, Luckily for the Urchins it was us who got the blast of his whistle.

This was by far the best i have seen the Blues play this season and was a pleasure to see the smiles and passion back on the supporters faces. I had a sneaky feeling that today things would turn around for us so let's hope this is the start.

We were by far the more skilled team but that skill is no good with a dodgy ref on the pitch.

Again well done to the lad's today and more of the same please on Tuesday.

lol pmsl,i thought we were cak first half and lucky to only be 1 down,2nd half i thought we were the better side but when you had the ball you looked dangerous.

i am happy with 1-1 but from my point of view if either team would of won there would probably be nothing to complain about from either side.

Will we see your coach in the blackwall tunnel on saturday????

Gazza,i am still loving you though baby!!!

I would agree and add that it was nioe to see and hear the supporters getting behind the team.

All of us, players and supporters alike, were a club.

Always good to see you TC, and of course Mrs TC,a bit of reciprocation, in fact a big thanks to the BTFC officials and players for staying and having a drink with us.

I thought a fair result in the end, game of two halves maybe. Our subs tuned things around as has been done many times. I always said it was a squad game and yesterday was a prime example.

Large credit to the BTFC supporters, a few of whom I know and always exchange pleasantries with.

We look forward to the return at New lodge, unless we meet before that...

A very enjoyable game, and an good improvement of our recent performance, Bricknel again showing class, I think we need to make the most of him before he moves on to bigger things.

both sides missed chances, I almost had a heart attack when the ball squirted along our goal line... that was close, but don

I spent the entire day at Birmingham, so missed my first match of the season, so thanks very much to Wivenhoe Urchin for doing the match report.

I need a bit of help from the Billericay aspect please -

I know there were a lot of bookings, but cn anyone tell me who was booked (both sides) and what times the bookings were?

What times the goals were scored?

Did Billericay use any subs, who did they replace, and what time were the substitutions made?

If anyone is interested, you can download the teamsheet from the Hornchurch web site.

"Did Billericay use any subs". I don't recall any subs coming on for us which says a lot about the game.

Good performance all round and the defence seemed completely different and very confident.

Hard to disagree with comments re the ref - absolutely abysmal.

I thought the only challenge worthy of a booking was from Dumas. Both teams were playing "hard but fair" but the ref's whistle went on numerous occasions for innocuous challenges.

Motm for me was Duncan, but yet again Jack had a great game in goal.

Apart from not getting all 3 points, a very positive afternoon all round.

More of ths same for Tuesday, please.

Officialy 2998 first time we visited, BB. So unnoficially it was probably closer to the AFCW attendance.

Not sure what the play-off semi attendance was, but in both cases the "away" contingent of the crowd (ie us) was big and noisy! Wheras those big gates for Braintree etc.. were big pulls for the home support, which accounts for the large gates.

Now there's some BBB for you!
