[Margate Football Club]

Margate Football Club Ltd has been served with another winding up petition by HM Revenue and Customs. This second petition relates to the same monies owing from the previous CVA. The Club is investigating a number of possible avenues and will report more as soon as decisions are made.

Well, my ignorance aside, what exactly does this mean for the club?

No doubt Jeremy will enlighten us with his usual relish on hearing the bad news.

 

In a nutshell, it means someone has to put their hand in their pocket for some serious money to bale the club out;or it ceases trading

I'm not sure if there is a way out this time if i am honest, we've been very lucky to still be going but being that it seems the club is in a very precarious situation, i don't think this is going to help matters. Be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of days

Gutted absolutly gutted. I find myself really angry about this. We all pay taxes so why shouldn't the football club. Answers needed!

It seems the only answer will be for a new Margate United or whatever in the Kent County League and do a Canterbury City. After all the football ground will have to remain for sporting use. I know its not come to that yet but if it were to start again, maybe the football club could be ran like it should be!!!

Well we are going to have to be quick if we are going to do that, this is where a supporters trust would have been handy

Whilst not knowing the full facts I think that 1 or more of the following situations have arisen.

 

a) The preent economic situation has not made it viable for the deal with HMR&C to continue.

 

There has been a default on agreed payments again.

 

c) The ground development has ground to a halt and funds will not be forthcoming.

 

Whilst I am not one to speculate unless I am in full possesion of the facts I think my season ticket will not be fully used this season.

On thinking about this again couldn't this be said at anytime.Could this be yet another time stalling tactic..It would certainly give the club more time to come up with a positive solution to the stadium plans.

Apart from being told that our club was to fold next week next year etc how can we be sure this is actually what has happened.I know it sounds a bit far fetched maybe but the timing of it after yesterdays meeting concerning signatures does make me wonder about this more.

Maybe yesterdays meeting wasn't a good one & maybe the club are using this as a cover up to divert the attention away from having to make any comment on that side of things.

Like I say its a bit far fetched & probably way off the mark but it was just a thought that came to me & it is a remote possibility.

Whatever is going on we will never know the truth , the real answers to the clubs problems , some people will say its none of our bussiness to know but if we are paying
