TRAVEL ALERT if you travel to work by train.....

The line between Gravesend & Dartford is closed due to pre-planned rail link works at Northfleet (they are sliding a bridge into place Swanscombe side of Northfleet).

 

However, we have already been advised that the works are over-running by at least 3 hours and into Tuesday morning's rush hour.

 

So if you do travel by train & have a car - GO TO DARTFORD or somewhere on the Longfield line.....

 

.....there will be replacement buses tuesday morning but it looks like it will be a bit of chaos - glad I am on nights. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

441, I believe it was , when it eventually reopened !

 

And I had a bad journey home - avoided my usual Blackfriars to Rochester via Swanley route to miss "major signalling problems" at Farningham Road, then still got delayed going via Gravesend due to diverted Victoria line trains and then waiting for trains to clear Higham tunnel (and dont tell me that was the fault of the Chnnel Tunnel mob, Super Daz !!)

They gave an apology and an explanation on tonights train - at least that's what I think it was as there was one problem - all the train windows were open & the loudspeaker didnt live up to its name, so no-one heard what was said anyway !!

Just heard on RK that the Higham tunnel will close on 17th Jan 2004 for 1 YEAR !!!!

All of expatriate us Gravesend people who now live in the Medway towns will be stuffed if we lose our driving licences. Still we can always get a Bluewater bus will our other halves and jump off at Stonebridge Road whilst the girls (or blokes!) do some retail therapy.

Might even get some brownie points!!
