According to the Dover forum, we lost 2-1 conceding a late own goal.

(4-5-1) Beresford, Harker, Argyrides, Wheatley, Robinson (Brown), Axon, Treadwell, T.Hickman, Keci (Payne), vanHinsberg, Taylor

2-1 defeat was not not a true reflection. Either side could have won. Margate played extremely well and Mark Wevs was happy with most things (except the result). Tom Hickman played a good game and was the dominant figure in mifdield. Shane Brown made a good impact and scored a poacher's goal a few minutes after coming on (switch to 4-4-2). Beresford was solid and reliable. The winning Dover goal come from a corner that eluded everyone and deflected in for an OG at the far post. IMO other notable performers included Treadwell, Taylor, and particularly Argyrides at the back.

Thanks Frank. Thought a few of first team squad might play, good to see Mark given a game in goal too.

 

Am looking forward to seeing them for the first time on Saturday.

Spoke to Mark Weatherly this morning. Mark was over the moon with the way the lads played last night. He said they played some great football. Well done lads, only beaten by another bad reffing decision. Apparently the keeper was held down by 2 opposition players for the final goal.
