Cookie
Typical! Was he ever back here? I doubt it! I think most had given up on him anyway. At least we know now where he is & it ain't here!

michael
No great surprise there, and there are a couple of others playing for us at present who i believe are on non contract terms so could effectively leave at any time. Not a great few days for the footballing side of the club just the same
Cookie
Maybe he just wanted away to get first team football as he wasn't getting selected here was he?
Andy .
you can`t be selected if your not at the ground , i don`t think i ever saw him at Hartsdown after he had surposedly signed for us . Does anyone know if he turned up for weekly training .
Jeff Trice
He warmed up with the squad before one of the Saturday home games - Canvey I think.

Tony_T
That is strange - he is even on our current squad list on the official web-site!!
StuyRandall
maybe he'll be back after a month, if thats all he's signed for...
Drummer
I can't see the point of going on about him. For whatever reason he isn't going to play for us so why not leave it at that and just continue to support those who are playing for us.
Broadstairs Dave
Hear hear. I suggest Alan locks this thread so we don't waste any more time on it.
michael
Yes we move on,and most of us never expected to see him in a 'Gate shirt anyway-but why did we feel like that ? Yes-this needs closure, but the easiest way to achieve closure is a simple announcement from the club stating that Sapps has moved on. Assuming he was non contract-he was always entitled to do that.(as are a couple of others currently playing for us) I think the underlying concern is the lack of info from the club about his 'signing' in the first place (many possibly doubt if he was ever signed)-and his subsequent 'release'. Supporters have no 'god given right' to know the full story, but a bit of an explanation from the club would stop speculation and idle gossip. He was afterall, the type of experienced defender we must surely be after, so it is a disappointment;and hence the continued debate. It may be as simple as commuting to training was difficult, maybe BA thought he was not fit, maybe a higher level club came in and that was always part of the 'deal'.
