"I have watched Takeley many times even though they could not win at the start, (God knows how)they were never played off the park ever, and were always gonna surprise a few sides once they got that first win. Have a feeling that some people might start changing their predictions."

I'll have to disagree on this...I might see a lot of teams changing their approach next time they are playing you.I'm sure the teams that have already played and assessed your lot, will come up a lot stronger. As much is admirable the way you're trying to play, the big test will be once the winter kicks in with muddy pitches etc etc.For now well done,9 points in 6 games is a reasonable start for a newcomer. applause

Oh no Kaiser..it was only a digression and i got carried away!It was nice to hear a club official telling to their manager(that was trying to phone in the result to someone)what he thought about their win...no even a word was said in reply! That's enough for now and off the forum...as Gary Mo said:I have been gagged! cheeriooo evil

Tonight's Result: League Cup Group B

Basildon Utd 0-5 Takeley

Basildon apparently fielded a largely ressie side with one eye on Saturday's Vase game at Wembley. (Never thought I'd type those words).

Hullbridge 4 Southend Manor 2

Flattering result for `Bridge but they took their chances in all fairness. Reckon we had 60-65% possession but goals win games.

Well done to Enrico and Steve`s team!

This is Not sour grapes as the officials did`nt have anything to do with the goals - BUT they were the worst set of incompetent officials I have ever experienced. I have seen 2 of them on Sundays and they were egg, as for Penfold the third one...well I cant think of the appropiate words!

Well, you might be right...but I remember a Sawbo side in 1994-95 that with a number of clubs in various Cup runs, took the opportunity to amass 40 league points before Christmas(the highest in history at that stage)and were 18 points ahead of GREAT WAKERING ROVERS only for the mighty Rovers to claw back all those 18 points and taking over at the top by March 25th 1995 and win the League Championship!!! excited

Yeah and i forgot a Bowers ressies side that were in the top 3 in October and finished in the bottom 3 by March!!lol evil
